Gerard Healey comparing Jimmy Stynes to Mason Cox. Give me a break.

What did he actually say? I mean Jim achieved the ultimate in the game as an individual. Was picked in the State of Origin side. Cox plays one good game every 8 weeks. They were talking up his player ratings. It’s laughable to compare them

He was gushing about Cox, how great he is and how he came from the U.S. and learned our game and blah blah blah then almost as an afterthought he tacked on a throwaway line to the effect of “…and Jim Stynes came over from Ireland.”

Just on the subject of Cox, that USA chant makes me sick. It’s one thing to have the American flag in the crowd (I have to say that’s ok since we wave Irish flags at our AFLW matches for our Irish girls) but to chant a player’s nation is bs. Why only an American player?????

Everyone said we were miles ahead last year too at round 10. And we all know how that turned out.
Smashing GWS at the MCG without Toby Green is not a premiership winning achievement ffs.
Yes they are setting the tone. Their game plan is what we’ve all adjusted to and they are hard to beat. But they aren’t impossible to beat and player vs player we have a superior list of talent. We absolutely can win it this year. But we have a lot to work on. Lucky it’s only May.

Yes. Not close as a player or a sportsman, philanthropist or an all round humanitarian. Gerald Healey hang your head in shame.

Barely noticed Nick Daicos today yet he has had 40 disposals

He gets a few by kicking out after a behind and getting a handball receive when he runs past a player who's taken a mark.

Collingwood are going to be in the grand final aren't they? They're likely to win it.

I mean we can't beat them. We haven't beaten them in years.

We have a great record against the pies in grand finals. Beaten them 6 times while they have beaten us just the once.

Collingwood miles ahead of everyone else and they’ve got multiple players to come back.

The only thing going for the rest of the comp is that they have peaked too early and will run out of gas.

They can be beaten, it appears some on here would lie down very quickly.

Adding to that we’ve still got Carlton twice plus Richmond, North and the Hawks again.
Games against Port, Pies, Cats and Lions crucial to our top 2 hopes.

No excuses not to finish top 4, top 2 very desirable.

Absolutely.

And after this Round likely Top 8 wont also change now just the final positions.

Newbies from 2022 will be port crows and saints. All deserving.

Bombers and Blues can whistle Dixie for rest of the season.

Collingwood look very good, but no better than we did this time last year and we all know how that turned out….

Loooooooooong season and anything can still happen.

Melbourne, Collingwood, Brisbane and Geelong all seem a cut above the rest at the moment.  Port Adelaide, Crows and Bulldogs also a chance on their day.

They've played mostly the same teams as us but got close to Collingwood and port Adelaide. Honestly we have had a softer draw

I said fixture, so taken into account the draw and the travel as well. They’ve had a very easy run.

I love how we are poised this time round. I'd rather be underdogs on King's birthday.

Are we lead by a Chamberlain, or a Churchill??

For those that have the Pies pencilled in as premiers, no premier in about 20 years has been outside the top 6 at defending inside 50s.

Pies appear to be so even all over the ground.

Their midfield of De Goey, Crisp, Mitchell, Daicos, etc. bat deeper than probably every team including us.

They may be vulnerable against our dual rucks though...

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
