Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Not I.

Strange times that after so f’ ing long I have confidence in the Demons. There seems to be so much trust and respect between the players and also between the players and the coaching group. The coaching group have shown that they know what they are doing and the players respond the the coaches and the team leaders really well.

They come out at the first bounce, play their game, assess what is going on, where the strengths and weaknesses are and make the adjustments accordingly. A well structured defence, a midfield putting pressure on at every contest and trusting one another to win the ball and a complete ground 22 man defence.

Not a lot more you can ask. These days if we get beaten on the day, I think the other team will know they have earned it.

hope that Max relaxes into this game a bit more than the last one.

Honestly I feel it is the Team first mentality that will continue to win us Games this year. To me our strength is the depth we are creating and the pressure that "those in waiting" place on our senior 22 + 1 .  We are going to have up and down days but Melbourne in 2021 and so far this year are showing more maturity week by week. Compare our start this year to the Bulldogs who we met in the 2021 GF.  That stability within OUR Club itself shows we have matured and we can only continue in that vein.... Go Dees  !!!!!

Recent history suggests that the Suns are always up and about early in the season. A potential banana skin if we're not switched on throughout I think. Looking forward to see how our new look backline perform for a second week.

I’m looking forward to my first trip to Metricon and first flight since the before times

It’s a danger game only in so far as every game is a danger game if we’re not switched on and focused.

But this is the new Dees. We will be switched on and focused

Dees by 5 goals

Nervous  definitely no.
the suns might play well but we should and will win.

our systems all over seem to work.

it does help to have tracca and Clarrie in the middle

strange it’s other teams that need to use a B game plan against us, when their A game does not meet ourS.
that’s what I do not fully understand

it’s all come together so quickly

watch with confidence and a decent red wine.  Go Dees

I’m slightly uneasy given GCS strong performance in Round 1, but our command of the midfield, and our relentless forward half pressure will be telling in the end.  A hard fought, but ultimately comfortable 6 goal win in greasy conditions.

Suns would have to play a lot better than last week to challenge us, West Coast barely had a league quality midfielder (Redden was their one decent one) and they still struggled to shake them for 3 quarters. If we lose to a side that has Levi Casboult as their main key forward it’ll be an absolute shocker!

I don't think they're a bad outfit at all and have some real quality in the middle and up forward but jeez, their back six are light on. Potential for Fritsch and Brown to bag up.

Afraid to say I am.

With our backline depleted somewhat I guess my Mfcss has come back.

One would think last year's  flag would be the end of that.

But like the old saying ....virginity is a recurring ailment.

Dees by 20.

Kozzie to have a big game.

I did not know that was a saying Deever. Live and learn.

I’m always nervous, no outcome is guaranteed. But it is not like the old days where my hope was entirely artificial, jollying myself along. We will turn up, we will grind out a win or GCS will get it but they will have to work like hell to earn it.

That nervousness makes the game more exciting. Go Dees !

Okaaay. 😳
I’ve not heard that saying before. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you made it up and are passing it off as an old saying and hoping nobody takes a minute to Google it, Deeves. 🙃

This is a danger game, particularly early in the season in wet and greasy conditions. They are hard but not slick at the contest and have some forwards with tricks at the fall of the ball that can be tough when on. Our maturity and elite endurance should allow us to come over the top but anyone that thinks this is not a danger game early in the season may end up with a surprise.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
