I get that. But not sure why they didn't show the box up to Bontepelli's goal in the third when they were19 points up.

What they did show of Beveridge was generally motivational stuff.

Whereas with Goodwin we got a bit of insight into tactics.  He used codes like 'contest line, ready'!  X line, ready (I didn't catch his words), its full defence time (or something like that).  I can guess what he meant but I can imagine that in the player's minds each translated to particular structures and roles.

Could have just been the editing but I was struck by the difference in coaching styles.

I’m told the Bulldogs didn’t give much and the Dees gave a lot except some tactical stuff.

Very enjoyable, so much to like. One of the best scenes for me was Goody early in the 4th telling T Mac on the bench he had one in him. T Mac on the siren just added another layer of special on the cake.

Ever since grand final night I've wanted to see Tommy's reaction on the siren, and after he knows the goal is goingthrough. For obvious reasons, we've never seen it (there may have been bigger things going on). We got both in that clip, and I was so rapt for him.

This makes sense. Why would it be so silent if not for the audio being withheld. Shame. Libba deserved a public spray for his refusal to sweep in the centre at the end of the third. If this were the NFL - he would have been roasted for the last 3 months.

This was so great. I love how Goodwin never stopped encouraging the players. Telling them to smile. To enjoy it. Even when we were down by 19 he said we will get our chance. Internally I’m sure he was worried but he never projected that to the players. Absolutely fantastic vision.

I also loved Tmac’s little fist pump on the siren. Still have no idea how he composed himself enough to kick it. I would have thrown it in the air and run.

TMac at the end is magnificent.
The Bulldogs got off lightly, and that includes the Media. Not sure why?

Anyway I certainly hope we are too powerful for them again. If our Midfield fires, the ball shouldn’t be in defense much….

I reckon out of respect/fairness to him and the Dogs they chose not to show what was going on in their box.

Just a focus on the winners and the positivity.

Although I agree with you, I'd loved to have beard Beveridge respond to what we were doing in the middle after the Fritsch x 2 and Brown goals.

Overall I loved the four videos because I am a sucker for this behind the scenes sort of stuff. I just want more!

Pity, I would have loved to see the meltdowns in amongst the carnage in the doggies box

Jesus..

Its ridiculous how extremely cool and calm Goody was even in the 3rd when we were 19 points down. He called it immediately after that Fritsch goa that we were back on when most of us were probably still a nervous wreck (I certainly was).

We're incredibly lucky to have Simon Goodwin leading this club. In matter of fact how lucky are the playing getting to play under his guidance..

Agree 100% Dazzle we and our team are indeed fortunate to have Simon Goodwin leading our club talk about cool under fire. I was so impressed by how smooth our bench worked together with Goody calling the shots and Shannon Byrnes work rate as well. Fabulous watch can’t get enough of this club and so much love shared between coach and players, no wonder we love them so much.!!

What a difference coaching from the bench rather from inside the box.  Feedback, praise and instructions were immediate.

That was a key strategy taken from the review at the end of 2020. It was put in place by the club that Yze would be in the box and Goody at ground level, and they would have very defined separate responsibilities so that Goody was able to be more player support and feedback focused and Yze more tactics and strategy focused.

We've talked about it a bit, but really that review and how Goody took it on board has been the making of both him and a premiership.

Harmes kick to Fritsch was all we needed (and He snuck it in). The ball is no longer in defence. Center Bounce

The Guns took over…

Similar to the reviews undertaken at Geelong in 2006 and Richmond in 2016. Hopefully ours bears at least as much fruit as those two did.

Great videos. Gee Goody communicates well. I remember he used to get a bit of stick for his media performances, but he sounded calm, clear and logical. In contrast, Bevo seemed all over the shop.

Based on limited information shown it seems there were vast difference in coaching styles

Goodwin, tactical, well drilled, encouraging, reinforcing, calming and confident. Everything was about structures, discipline, energy and going back to what they had learned and what they knew had worked so well for them

Bevo seems much less so of that and more emotional, John Northey style, encouragement. Less about structures and more about 'throw the ball around', 'take some uncontested marks' type instructions.

Interesting too the complete confidence that Goodwin had in his team in the box to analyse and recommend tactical moves.

As one who wasn't a Goodwin fan early on it shows a remarkable trusting management style that appears gets the best out of all the assistants

TBH I didnt understand what Goody was talking about half the time but the players obviously do.  Also showed one of our weakness.

I also liked the shots of the crowd after our goals, especially those walking back from the bar.

A brilliant exposé.
As others have said, MFC and all of us supporters are so blessed to have Goody at the helm, but at the helm of a well oiled team.

The H-S can sod off …. the players all seem to love him, and vice versa.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
