Changes v Richmond R5

Recommended Posts

Would like to see the Casey results first, but Weideman almost certainly to go back. Melksham has been ok this year imo, but was shocking today. Hannan probably due to go back for a few as well.

Hogan > Weideman

Hibberd > Melksham

Brayshaw if he plays well a chance to replace Hannan.

Just as the op suggested.

Agree with first two

Weed looked injured as well as lost - time to reset

Melksham ? another Essendon Trojan Horse?  Turns over far too much. Hopefully Hibberd may be different

Hannan - depends on whom is pressing from Casey. Let's see how Tim Smith goes, and Brayshaw and even Trengove

A brayshaw or Trengove in for Hannan would have given Goodwin some more flexibility. Against the tigers we will need this.

In: Hogan, Hibberd, Trengove

out: Weed, Melksham, Hannan

Big chance for some players at Casey this weekend - Brayshaw, Pedersen and Kennedy to name a few.  Their performance will go along way to deciding the changes for next weekend.

You would think Weideman has used up his chances for the time being and will be straight out for Hogan.  Will Hibberd be right to go after one week at Casey?  Most of us would hope so but we know what happens when you take in a player who is underdone.  Hannan is another who might be on the chopping block and if one of Kennedy or JKH can impress then they may get a run as well.

Indeed that last spot is a toss up. Quite right to see what happens at Casey

Look to this weeks emergencies first and see how they go on Monday as this has been the hint each week as to who is next in line for promotion.

Trengove, Oscar and Smith were this weeks emergencies so I would not be at all surprised to see Jack back. I expect Hogan to replace Weed. It may be Weed and Melksham for Hogan and Trengove and hope there are no further injuries.

Just saw Melkshams stats..

10 disposals 0 contested 10 uncontested 3 tackles and 7 turnovers.

Under Paul Roos he wouldn't get a game with those numbers. Will Goody drop his mate?

If I remember correctly, he had zero contested and 18 uncontested possessions last week, bit of a pattern there.

Out

Weikaspissernam Melksham Tyson Hannan

IN

Hogan Pedersen JKH/Kennedy Hibberd

IMO a lot of people are fooled by Tyson irrelevant touches.. he is a slow accumulator who's foot skill are ordinary and too slow to actually use it..

Agree, plus toss in the lack of defensive pressure.

But being an ins and outs thread:

Out Weid,, Tyson

This week:

Hogan for Weid. Thats it.

BECAUSE then you've got Jordy and Hibberd ready the following week, and Brayshaw hopefully in touch and knocking down the door. He's too good for the 2's.

I also think our midfield need to be held accountable for that loss and be given a chance to atone. They were nowhere near it in the 3rd and they owe us a 4 quarter effort.

Still not convinced about Hannan, but if Hibberd and Lewis go back, Vince and Salem can go to the wings and everyone rolls forward one spot pushing Hannan and Melksham out.

I still wish we had another forward target. Watts and Hogan are good, but that 3rd versatile forward option is what we lack. I think the long term need for that and the Hogan suspension is all thats kept Weid and Hannan in.

I've been a massive Weid critic and wanted him dropped last week. I wasn't able to make it to the game yesterday but on the radio they were reporting he copped a heavy corcky to his right leg in the first quater.

Wouldn't be surprised if he is out injured rather than ommitted. He's normally an accurate shot for goal and he couldn't even strike it from 25m out.

He is defenintly more effective when Hogan is in the team but i don't think he'll get the chance to prove that next week.

Could Kelty come in for Melksham?

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
