With Casey’s season teetering on the brink, the Demons come up against Sandringham at a time when the Zebras’ AFL affiliate has a record low injury list and plenty of talent from which to select their side. The game is on at Casey Fields on Sunday 26 May 2024 at 2.05pm.

And of course this Basket Case of abominable proportions competitio schedules the game at a time slot that means 3 carry over Demons in the senior side will not be able to play. CARRYST can the AFL get serious and get an AFL reserves comp back up and running?? NOT HAPPY🤮

Yes not sure why we took 3 players to Perth. Kolt yes as travelling emergency but not Tomlinson and not Fullarton.

Likely Casey will get Fullarton, Kolt and Ben Brown back in this week.

Not sure if Connolly or Hustwaite are back from injury any time soon. Both have been out 3 and 5 weeks respectively now which hurts our young Casey team as well.

Sorry to say guys 3 players are ALWAYS are on standby and do the warmups right up until the last few minutes before they run out! ALWAYS has been and ALWAYS will be!

Hope he's not offended by being left out again.  Do we really want to hurt him?

I think he's a judge on the UK voice or some such.

Does anyone know the reason that the reserve teams aren’t able to play before the AFL teams this week?
Is the MCG surface so frail?

What’s happening before the game on the MCG?

When and where do teams get announced for Casey these days? I only ever see the team listed here quite late on Friday night.

Touché

Frankly it doesn't generate enough if any revenue for the AFL execs to care at all.

Nothing but loud noises Disco.  Lots of loud noises.

Surely you aren't going there for the game itself?   Enjoy...

Sandringham 17 AFL LISTED players (8 emergencies?!?!)

Dees 11 afl listed players

??! Connolly???? Hustwaite

Line up looks a tad stronger NS although we're still very shallow in the middle.

Anyone know what's happended to Roy?

And where are Neocleous and Laplanch at!? 🤔

Shallow in the middle perhaps and Brad Crouch should get 40 possessions.

Shallow more in the defence. Membrey might kick 5-6 goals , with no Tomlinson Hore D.Turner to play solid defence role.  Adams is very raw and young.

Sandringham by 40 points or more.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.
