  1. Yes. I reminded everyone within earshot about Selwood’s attack on Jones immediately after that goal.
  2. 6. Omac 5. Gawn 4. Hibberd 3. Hogan 2. Petracca 1. Melksham Lever, Jetta and Harmes looking more settled in their roles now and pushing for votes last night.
  3. I was thinking the same thing. Blue sky upside.
  4. I like to see him start in the middle all the time. He works well as a Bob Murphy type sweeper across the backline later in the game.
  5. Tom Mac. Injury free and fit should be worth 40+ goals from CHF.
  6. The sting went out of our season immediately after that punch. Tomas brings an edge to the group. That's why he will be in our 22 at the start of 2018. But now they will come after him, harder and in numbers. It will be interesting to see what he is really made of.
  7. I remember Roy Wright, Alan "Butch" Gale, Thorold Merrett and RDB used to turn up half way through the show most Friday nights. Harry used to call him "Brasso".
  8. That was Lewis's best game for MFC IMHO on a day made for him. In close tricks, defensive smarts and lack of errors make me think he is getting back to his best.
  9. Sam has been improving weekly of late. Good composure in 1 on 1s. Links up ok and is creative when he has won his own ball. Great to see Sam past this milestone. SEN evening during the week, David King brought up an interesting Champion Data 'fact'. Sam Frost is turning over the ball once for every 2.5 possessions for the last few weeks. I find this hard to believe.
  10. Can't believe i heard myself today saying "they should leave Tommy Mac at CHF all day and see what happens". Sam and Oscar held the fort reasonably well in his absence last week. This is optimism.
  11. 2 on 1 contests. Even in the recent past, we would have both players attempt to tackle a lone opponent. It looked like the objective was to force a stoppage. Tonight, one of our players would peel off in the belief that his teammate would win the contest and handball. Did anyone else notice this?
  12. Good to see Viney back to form. Trending - Oscar Mac, Frost Flat compared to last week - Salem and Petracca Negative watch - JKH, Bugg We need a win as reward for 4 quarters of footy.
  13. Corkie or not, Weed can stand around watching his team mates contest at Casey. What's with Jake? His field kicking has been ok up to now.
  14. It looked a little heated down there after McCarthy's goal. A few behind the fence thought that no contact was made. I would love to get the opinion of a Cheersquad member.
  15. Agreed he seems to have trouble making some tackles stick. Could be that his targets are developing a little more momentum (2-3 more steps) than last year. That strong mark and Captain's goal late in Q4 for the lead was heartening. Co-Captain was on the bench at the time from memory.
  16. Missed the game last night due to a birthday. Just wondering if Chip showed any interest in chasing the Bont around this time?
  17. Very pleased today to see Dawes contributing. He covered a lot of ground and linked up well. Also impressed with Dean Kent. That would be his best game for MFC. Would dearly love these two to back up their efforts next round. Also happy to see Trenner's progression.
  18. Somebody wrote on Demonland a while back words to the effect that adults are now making the calls at the draft. Gold!
  19. Worked hard today. Only one or two brain freezes. Jimmy is positioning himself better and not getting caught flat footed after weighing up options. Adding scoring and tackling to the mix makes him look to be an exciting prospect now. Kicking to position was faultless as far as i could tell.
  20. Jeff is starting to look like payback for Brock. And Brock was payback for Vin Cattogio
  21. I dropped in for a few minutes to see how they were going. Could not see Hogan.
  22. Interesting listening to Ando on 693 this morning. He is convinced that Pick 3 for Chip is a rort. In effect, a quasi priority pick. Used the old "Buddy only got pick 19" line and the fact that Chip has been outside the top 6 in the B&F for the last 3 years. I wonder if these sports journos actually watch the footy? He would have seen some of the worst body language from a league footballer in recent memory. Hands on hips staring sideways at the ground tells me Chip didn't want to be at MFC. Next year will be a different story.
  23. Can't see Lake playing another year. He is widely disliked at Hawthorn despite his medal. Same story as when he was at Footscray. Chip would have to be high on their shopping list.
  24. Tiny story on the back page of the Sunday Age sports section. Leppa is overlooking Brent who is languishing in the local QLD competition. Fourth club coming up if he can recover from his back/hammy issues?
