I understand why a lot of supporters on here would be worried about this as our potential ‘danger’ game & I’m always one to never get carried away & always putting respect on the completion regardless of how bad they’re travelling.

A major part of this group is the same group that got embarrassed in the 2018 PF & the same group that heavily underachieved the last 2 seasons. The approach & ‘team first’ mentality this team has shown this year shows a major upgrade of maturity from the players.

I think this group of players are humble enough to realise to not get too carried away.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m hoping for a total and utter massacre. My only disappointment is that Boomer Harvey isn’t still playing, although he acts as their runner so he will have a front row seat.

It’s just that engaging in banter feels like stealing an ice-cream from a toddler. Besides, remember how patronising it was when we were so rubbish that people stopped teasing us?

Banter has nothing to do with it.

We are now paying for that not happening

I believe there is a way to win, and a way to lose. One should know how to do both.

I'd also add that holding onto grudges from years past is like drinking poison, and hoping that the object of your resentment dies. Punters at the footy are not worth getting that worked up over. ?

That being said, there is only one person that I hope suffers in his jocks should we go all the way and that is Jeff Kennett. ?

The reason being is that he has gone out of his way to insult us and poke his nose into our business. The chutzpah of that man to say he would run for our presidency makes me shake my head in both astonishment and annoyance (and I struggle to fathom that there were actually some people on this board who thought it was a good idea at that time).

If this is a danger game, then literally every game is a danger game with the danger level of the North game being the lowest

So in summary - this is not a danger game

While all our wins have been comfortable, we haven't had a chance to really smash a side this year. I think we will get on top early and take the opportunity to really drive a team into the ground. And I'm all for it after the years of North doing exactly that to us.

Had we kicked accurate in some of those games I reckon we would have had 50 plus point wins in some.

It's definitely coming.. could it be this week?

I don't like North, and while i can feel sympathy for a team getting belted every week, i don't want that to change this week.

Also, kind of silly to go from reading the tigers forum to norths. Talk about a contrast.

I'm happy with a win, no experimenting, no percentage booster just 4 points. Let North come, and they will. This team is in fantastic form and they look focused. Just get the job done and let Footscray play Hollywood football in April, we'll just get a win a move forward...

They do and I've been to a few games where they've outnumbered ours so .......

And for the record I hate all the other clubs for various reasons.

Having sat through years and years or hopeless rubbish, I do feel for North supporters. Now back to the task at hand...

This should be a percentage boost. I want top spot on the ladder.

Yep. It's possible to feel for the North supporters (as we have been there before) and also want to smash their team by 100 points.

To be fair to them, they have played competitive for periods of games this year. They just cant sustain it for a whole match. Will be happy to just get the win, but a thrashing would be great.

This is a bit of a danger game. We need to respect every opposition we play against and not underestimate the Kangaroos.

Having said that, I remember some heavy and close losses that we have had to North Melbourne over the years.

I hope that the players remember those disappointing losses....especially the one only a few years ago by over 100 points. We need a bit of pay back for that.

As long as the Demons players haven't started drinking their own bath water then I am hopeful of a win against the Kangaroos either down in Hobart, Tasmania or at Marvel Stadium in the Docklands.

Let's just take it one game at a time....

The only hope the Roos have is to throw the kitchen sink at us and hope we do a Melbourne and seize up mentally.

We will see out their initial onslaught, then put on the afterburners and that'll be it by 3/4 time. The only question is whether this game will be a percentage booster or not.

This is when we find out if we have a killer mentality.

Don’t stop hunting goals until the final siren.

Don’t look at the scoreboard, just work together, repel their attacks, then move it forward as a relentless team and pile on score after score after score.

I want to know if we have the substance to be a killer machine on the field.

I was there in '64.  That's how old I am, but like most on here, my heart has been too often broken since that time.  However, from what I have seen, so far this year, this is a group willing to go into battle for each other, are brothers in arms and simply love each other.

Over the course of this year, there may be performances, when we collectively say..............  WTF was that?  Inevitably, we will lose games before the home and away season is finished.  But despite the pain over history, my view is we start to believe, support the boys/club and let's turn out in maximum numbers...... rules permitting.

Again, since '64, I have never seen a Melbourne team, which seems so inexorably welded as one.Let's hope from here, the 'injury' gods are kind to us.

Go you Mighty Demons!!!!!

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
