Jack Watts signs for three years (21/7/16)

Jack has set an example of honesty and loyalty that stands up alongside the likes of the Hawthorn OAPs.  Hopefully it will prompt the likes of Tommy Mac & Hogan to display similar qualities.  For one who has been the target of no end of sniping and disrespect from coaches and supporters for so long, it is amazing that all he has to say about the club is positive.  Good on you, Jack Watts.  You have been an absolute beacon during the dark times.

Much better than Hawthorn's OAPs.  It'd be hard to leave Hawthorn for obvious reasons.

It's been a really great experience this year watching Jack play well and really enjoy his footy. You can see it in him now, there's no hesitations or flinches of doubt, he's backing himself to win contests and kick goals.

Great to have you on board till 2019!

Congrats Jack! It feels good to know Jack has made it. I agree with all the positive observations that have been made here. On the few instances that I have met Jack in person, as well as watching him at training and in the media, he stands out as a terrific bloke, a passionate Demon and a wonderful role model. Our club has benefited, on and off the field, as a result of drafting Jack. Now the future is his to push on to the elite level that he is capable of on-field.

Like many on Demonland I have always loved having Jack at Melbourne, i never doubted that JW would one day be one of our most important players, he has always shown himself to be one of our best human beings. He made no bones about not looking around to see what else was on offer. I am so happy for Jack and us Dee supporters. - Go Dee's Good on you JW.

I've been staunch for Watts in the face of some truly bad games.

Also Neville,Gawn and the skipper.

I've backed Hunt to become a star early.

I still say Salem will be a star.

Never doubted Jack Viney.

In fact,I'm very rarely wrong ever.

About anything.

Most of you will know that by now.

I too have backed these players in, except for Salem.  I've always been a bit concerned about his size and lack of pace.  He is however a damned clever and skillful player with a very hard edge and a great sidestep, so while I have doubts I am certainly not going to write him off.

On the Watts contract situation, Damn that makes me happy.

I'll put my hand up and admit to being on the 'get rid of Watts' wagon for a few years now...   But I'll also admit to doing a little fist-pump on the way to the car this afternoon upon reading the text that he'd re-signed.   I truly hope 2016 is just the launching pad and that he spends the next three years (and beyond) making me feel utterly guilty for calling him Reek (re Thrones) the past few years.

I'm rapt that he has signed, and will hopefully be a one club premiership player.  He deserves it.  No other player in history has dealt with that amount of cr@p from all footy supporters, including our own.  The trash that has spewed out of Melbourne supporters' mouth at this bloke has been shameful.  Fortunately it has been borne out of ignorance; rather than any astute knowledge.  Tom Hawkins did nothing at Geelong in his first 5.5 years.  Collingwood supporters are noweven questioning Darcy Moore, who will be a superstar.  Some bigger guys take time; pure and simple.

Now that some have nibbled at humble pie; and now that he has shown the ultimate faith in us, it is overdue that MFC supporters shut their gobs the next time he has a bad moment, or bad game or a couple; and take the very good with the odd bad.  He has shown us loyalty through thick and thin, and it is about time we returned the favour.

When Jack plays well, we generally win games, so it's no surprise that Jacks form has improved out of sight and we've been winning far more consistently.

his loyalty to a club that has probably not always done the absolute right thing by him is fantastic, bit like Nathan Jones he's one of the guys i have no doubt will be a one club player if they have a say in the matter.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
