Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

AFL players get Covid tested regularly and would have been tested prior to entry and just after arrival into WA where they were locked away in a hub. It was never going to be Covid.

All I hear from this club is whinging and crying.

Cool. Still missing my point that the OP is misleading with what the article actually says.

Not bizarre at all. This whole interview is intended for the Geelong playing group. He's telling them not to be despondent because there's a good reason they got thumped. At the same time he's telling them that they were good enough to make the 2021 PF, not good enough to be 2021 Premiers but definitely good enough to win in 2022.

It's not dissimilar to the strategy behind Goodwin saying that he never bothered to review the 2018 Preliminary Final.

And that went well!

But why say anything now publically?  I can only presume he is playing to the Cat supporters.

Aged care residents during the height of COVID were more resilient than this mob.

Not a comment that helps this post.

Imagine  if someone you knew a friend or relative has passed on due  to Covid in an Aged Care home.

According to everyone's favourite non MFC coach.

Geelong had too many players under an injury or illness cloud and thus the game should've been postponed until Geelong were fit and healthy.

No excuses but flummoxed Scott still wonders why prelim went ahead

What an absolute pathetic excuse. Game should not have gone ahead! Disgraceful whingefest

Bizarre. Why give your players an out? What does that do for the psychology of the group?

Yes and more.

Cats supporters will rightly now be saying that scott hasn't learnt anything from their umpteenth finals failure. They will dodge reality of an ageing list. I would be concerned as a cats Board member.

2021 repeat coming up.

Or....it wasnt my fault.

Jeremy Cameron was unwell according to Scott.   Looked very up and about to me when he kicked the first goal.

Perhaps he was feeling a bit of Malaise.  Is there more than one Scotty from Marketing??

Last two comments i agree with . Don't forget he is very much in the in crowd of TV Footy. Opinion valued on lots of issues

Nothing wrong with working up the blood

Interesting that the media might be changing a direction via Scott, under orders from AFL. Is that possible....

Beat them 3 times and only really tried for a quarter in round 23.

Understand the spin he is putting on for his playing group but an in form dees beats an in form cats team in 2021 and the playing group would know that

I'd say its more the supporters, plenty of Cats supporters think he should've been gone a couple of years ago but I think he just got an extension last year.

Obviously he is wrong...His time frame is up s.... creek

From my observation the Geelong players seemed to have been struck by the said mystery virus some time in the 3rd Q of the final game down at Kardinia Park.

It was out of control by the final Q.

I mean, I hate him as much as anyone and it's a pretty thinly veiled attempt at making excuses, but that's not what he said at all.

He said, in hindsight, it could have been COVID as far as they knew and the AFL had a meeting about it.

Let's not have a thread about misleading media reporting and then do the same thing ourselves.

The way I'm reading it is a bunch of hypotheticals and lots of if a x b = x then y talk. Also questioning himself for not asking the question if it was COVID.

So I guess what I'm saying is had it have been COVID he would have been flummoxed if it wasn't postponed that it wasn't. But because it wasn't COVID then there's really nothing to even speculate about.

So the headline should really be 'No excuses but hypothetically flummoxed Chris Scott would wonder why prelim went ahead'

Haha yeah, it's some 'messy' at best commentary by someone whose job is all about communication.

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.
