Got a doggies mate who thinks they’re tanking for the no.4 pick. It would be very Melbourne to lose to a team that’s tanking ?

That is literally the most MFC win contra indicator I've heard of.

I've seen the Saints Vs Blues already this round plus Geelong goin' down in Adelaide. Does it get better than that?

Yes it does ! Dees by the length of the Flemington straight.....hard held.

Hogan to get 7 with 10 score involvments.

It is written.

We are at least 2 goals better a quarter.  Boyd and Bont out.  McRae rushed back.  48 points, Maxie to own the skies.  JKH to surprise knockers.  Improved (modified) forward 50 approach to be on display.

I have other duties and wont be there today - but perhaps that is a good thing because I have only seen one win at the G this year (Roos), and felt the Geelong, Saints and Pies games were poor give-ups.  Go Dees

I'm actually genuinely excited, given this is the first match I have been able to attend all season.

Attending with a doggies fan so I hope it's me who get to gloate on the long ride home and not him.

Carn the Dees!

I don’t like it when Dubdee is this confident!

We should have this game in the bag but at our unpredictable worst we can be as bad as Carlton.

Have driven down from Canberra for a Tiger supporting mate's 30th, and have convinced the boys to go to the game. Hopefully it's a good start to the evening

Was not planning to go today for fear of extending my 0-5 live record this year.

But then my boss scored tickets to a sponsored corporate box in the ponsford stand level 1. It actually is important work schmooze.

Who’s been in one before? I’m worried I’ll make a [censored] of myself. I’ll guess I’ll just keep shoving canapés in my mouth and watch quietly..

Good pick up Deemented!

I've had a couple of goes in the corporate boxes both for footy and cricket.

And yes .... I made a [censored] of myself each time. With the wisdom of hindsight though, it is probably best to show a little restraint - you may get invited back!

I believe we are maturing. I expect us not to let the dogs get more than 2 goals in a row and to control the momentum. We should be learning from our past bad games. Four quarters please and hard at it in the time on period. Plenty of marks for us in the 50 meter area on such a beautiful day. Go Dees!

Well done Nibbler. 50th game. Has anyone ran further in their first 50 games?

The club also acknowledges two more milestones.

1000 disposals for Trac ( needs two more)

1000 disposals for Jesse (needs five more)

Beautiful winter’s day. Go Dees!

After the Hawthorn & Richmond losses I stopped caring so much and we went on a 6 game winning streak... The St.Kilda game crushed me again, so I've gone back to not caring so much. Can't watch tonights game which will be weird, I can't recall ever not watching a game on t.v. atleast. Dees by 23, hoping more than anything!

Early in the week I was very apprehensive about this game (our home ground disadvantage, the doggies outside run, scars from the St Kilda game, MFCSS kicking in, etc), but after more thought, and seeing the respective teams, I'm now more confident of a win.  We are  both more talented and more experienced, and besides, I just can't bring myself to tip against Melbourne when finals are on the line. ?  Dees by 24 points.

Simple formula. Win! No excuses etc. win by 1 point or by 100 points. Prefer 50 plus points but a win is all we need then no travel this week.

I think we can beat Geelong and Sydney but day is crucial

Flying back from Malaysia shortly, so will miss the game. Hoping for a good result, fearing a bad one.. cmon Dees begin our momentum to finals!!!

The Saints game was a huge setback for my confidence this side will just get the job done when it needs to, but last week went some way towards restoring it.

I think it was @ProDeethat the experience comparison between the two sides, which showed us fielding a vastly more experienced side.  We've got them covered in pretty much every position on the ground. This is an absolute must win and we should do comfortably.

After the St Kilda debacle we need to win this game by a substantial margin to bring back the players’ and the supporters’ belief!  Then we need to continue and win every match between now and the end of the home and way season so as to finish Top Four! Finishing in the Final Eight is not good enough!

I admit to a vested interest as l will be overseas for the first week of the Finals!

Losing is simply not an option if we want to play finals. Luckily we’ll come out pumped up and show the Dogs what we’re made of. Dogs by 27.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
