I don't recall feeling as nervous before a game since the mid 90's when we were relevant.

I hope we win and are propelled towards finals. In saying that I feel this year really is a stepping stone to next year and a massive push for those illusive finals.

I'm taking my son to his first ever game today, and it will be the first time 3 generations in my family have watched the demons since my grandfathers passing in 1996.

This will be a memorable moment for me as a father to continue the family tradition of being a Demons man.

I have faith the dees will get it done today. I hope to look back on this day and enjoy the memory of teaching my son how to sing a grand ol flag.

No mercy today Demons.

I want us in the box seat at quarter time and never look back.  Have the result beyond doubt by three quarter time and pulverize them in the final quarter.

There is the game plan for today Goody.

A win can see us jump into seventh position, lose and we can kiss finals goodbye. Let's see how serious our boys are.

I think the teams are really evenly matched. No hogan and Watts is offset by no Montagna and Reiwoldt. Hogan usually cuts the saints up and Reiwoldt does eth same to us.  Great player but I wont miss seeing him destroy us every time we play. I think both clubs are going to be intense around the ball and that this one may well be decided in the final 10 minutes of the game.

Dees by 10 points. Garlett kicks 5. Jones BOG. Oliver a lazy 40 possessions. 39 contested

What is on the line for our team today is patently obvious.  Whether they can achieve it  is unclear.  For this week at least, I've given up trying to predict the outcome.  Next week it may not even matter.  GO DEES, give it everything, as if your lives depend on it!

Nervous about today.  Which Demons team shows up?

most important 8 point game I can remember.  We do this, we set ourselves up for September.

A great test- the two teams everyone thought would be fighting for a spot in the 8- are fighting for a spot in the 8.

go Dees.

This is an elimination final before an elimination final for both teams.

Our leaders really have to stand up today.

Both teams are so evenly matched.

Garlett has to play a blinder today because against the like of Brown and gilbert the saints backline looks pretty strong.

Cruel and unusual punishment Adzman. What has your young son done to deserve this?

Don't know what to expect hoping for a win but ever since the north loss I just can't take this club seriously, so we will see how it pans out at 4pm

Up early ET?

Would've been nice if the Bloos got up last night

It's really not that cut and dried for us. A loss today for the Saints will bury them but we can still make it on %. 8th is most likely going to have 12 wins if we lose today - the saints will need to beat the Tigers in the final round to get 13 and the dogs will need to beat Port next week.

We've passed the bombers on % after last night. A narrow loss today and we will get over them on % if we win the last 2.

I always told myself through that losing streak to St.Kilda, "It doesn't matter, we'll beat them when it really matters" we've got 1 down this year already... Another one to go. Goodwins comments of "Come Sunday we'll see a ferocious Melbourne" if this side is made of anything that's what we'll see and get the 4 points

So nervous for this game, and to make matters worse, I've got to take my 7 year old son to a birthday party out in the middle of nowhere. Hoping there is 3 or 4G reception there because if I can't at least check the scores I'm going to go mad.

So much riding on this game. Come on Melbourne!

He will thank me soon enough. He is only 2, and by the time he understands the game our premiership window will be open. Maybe he can avoid wandering the earth without seeing a flag like many of us on here.

A slow week is finally over. Nervous for obvious reasons, watching my son now kicking the round ball and I can't help but think I have infected him. His mind is elsewhere.

Looking forward to seeing the chemistry between, Trac, Hannan, Jeffy, T Mac and Weed. We need to cause heavy early damage and hopefully these guys deliver up forward.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
