T Mac to the backline!! Can’t do much worse. Change it around please. 72 points against them at the half.

I've raised concerns about our game plan since the first half against Geelong in round 1, and it has not improved.

Inefficient and congested going forward.

Open players everywhere when defending.

Got one half of footy to right the ship. We have the cattle, but do we have the ability to put it all together?

Umps have been an absolute disgrace. 3 goals from dodgy 50 metre penalties has killed us.

We are being toyed with by a a team thats won 2 games.

On our supposed home ground.

What a disgrace.

We can’t play the MCG. It’s as simple as that. Our defensive zone is too high and our kids don’t work hard enough/aren’t quick enough to get back and help out.

We don’t deserve to play finals this year. So disappointing.

Truly one of the worst halves of footy I've seen from us since the Neeld era. Our gameplan is dreadful.

We are a joke.. Hogan and Petracca need to pull the fingers out.

Yep, the backline isn't our problem...lol.  Stkilda has scored 72 points in a half.  STKILDA.

For how long do we let Lewis build his Superannuation for defending with all the physicality of Andrew Gaze

Defining game. Lose this and it’s goodbye finals.

Petty is not AFL ready. Feel sorry for him. Bad call giving him a game

Petty is not the reason we are losing. No crumber. No midfield field run and connection from the wings and dumb players going for the same ball (air and ground) is.

That was a fairly ordinary half of footy by us.

Expecting us to come out with a different tac from half time. There is no way the players will accept a loss today, and I'll back them to put a poor half behind them.

Only 15 points... can catch that in 5 mins.

I still back us.

What does Joel Smith provide? How can we select him and Petty in a crunch match... Goodwin continues to lose games on Thursday night selections.

We are pathetic. Losing to a team that should have lost to GC.

Watching this live and it is glaringly obvious that we are slow. Have no crumber/pressure forwards. We are way to close to esch other and letting them stay outside the contest and for it to be fed out to.

Same old mistakes. Mids are being slaughtered and care more for asking for a handball 1 meter away than supporting their teammate.

Selection was pus. Officiating is pus. Oir skills are pus and if it wasnt for gawn it would be 10 goals by now.

You can blame the Umpires as much as you like but this is our own doing. We are not being accountable we are just not being smart.

from the AFL site ... states the obvious but also shows how our game plan can so easily be picked apart:

St Kilda has retained possession from 73 percent of its inside 50 entries, compared to Melbourne 53 percent. The Saints have retained possession from only 42 percent of their kicks into the forward 50 this season, which is ranked second last.

Also lol at Trac and Hogan promising a return to form. Touched the ball 13 times between them for zero return.

Tracc has kicked a goal!

Of course he isn’t. Never said it was!

Just noting that he isn’t ready for footy. Looks overawed and nervous with ball in hand and not reading the ball in flight.

Havent watched enough VFL to make a call on this, but surely Frost is ahead of him?

    TRAINING: Friday 28th February 2025

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock to bring you their observations from today's training session before the Demons head off to Perth for their final Practice Match. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning, not much wind, more than a couple of dozen spectators.  The players were up and about, boisterous and having fun. One of their last drills were three teams competing in a hard at it, handball game in a small area. Goody

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
