Changes for GWS

Harmes needs to be dropped to clean up his disposal. The amount of opportunities he misses in front of goal or going into 50 is ridiculously understated. He either a. Misses more shots on goals then any other player or b. Bombs it and results in a turn over.

Dropping any of JKH Hannan and ANB would be silly.  Our forward line struggled in general so unless we're bringing in half forward players it's pointless dropping them for one bad game.

Jones and Vince for Trengove and Hogan obvious outs, maybe one of the aforementioned for Maynard.

As much as I feel for Hogan who is having his worst year personally and professionally I feel confident that we have a ready made replacement for him in Pedo. Pedo can also go into the ruck to help Max out therefore freeing up Tom and Jack. Id rather lose a Hogan than a Gawn, Viney or Jones.

But in saying that Watts needs to lift. His past 2 weeks have been awful.

The Jack Trengove Experience is over.

Massive fan of his but he cost us several goals yesterday and had no impact whatsoever,  I thought it was a very poor performance from someone as experienced, playing for his career

Doesn't look much quicker than Brock McLean

Wouldn't be surprised to see Maynard come in after being promoted this week.

His latest VFL review was:  "Corey had 30 disposals, including 20 contested possessions, seven clearances and five tackles. I thought he was the most influential player on the ground on Saturday night. In a game that was tough, due to the conditions, it required players to be strong over the ball and really drive through contested situations...Plapp."

Given that North won the clearances, tackles and contested ball in the last quarter we could have done with Maynard in the game rather than as emergency.

Who comes out?  We have a few players who look underdone after injury (Watts, Gawn, and Viney) or carrying an injury (Hannan, Jetta and maybe Hunt who have take a few hard knocks in recent weeks).  Then there are those who had a shocking day yesterday:  ANB, Harmes and maybe others altho I wouldn't automatically drop a player for a bad game when the whole team played badly.

It may sound sacrilegious to say but Viney may need a rest as he is playing in great pain and was severely hampered yesterday.  We will have Jones back next week, albeit underdone but he will provide a lot of the grunt.  With Maynard in it would help the midfield contested cause.

In summary, Maynard in.  Take your pick as to who comes out.

I have been saying to bring Maynard for weeks, but sadly he gets left out, would love to give him a chance. He has been killing it in the seconds, i hope he plays next week.

A bit depends on the Casey game today but if Weed has a good one he could be back in...for Hogan.

Tommy Mac may need to go back, Frost has been a liability recently which has always been on the cards (athlete not footballer).

Match ups with their forwards will decide the mix.

Harmes is an interesting one. He has some attractive skills and can attack the ball well with an angry, confident attitude. But to me there seems to be a frantic element which means he makes poor choices or his disposal lets him down. Lacks composure. Still only 21 and like a lot on our list, less than 50 games. I get the feeling that he (and maybe ANB, JKH, Stretch, etc) could become handy players when they get to the 80-100 game mark. The question is, will the wait be worth it/can we wait that long?

Disagree.  We can cover one of the ones you mentioned. It's much harder to cover the loss of a KPF.

He is playing today like he is ready to return and I think he should. Cant see a Watts and TMac led forward line causing enough havoc for the Giants.

In: Vince, Jones, Weed and Maynard

Out: Hogan, Trenners, JKH and Harmes

Out: Hogan (inj), Trengove, JKH

In: Weiderman, Vince, Jones

Weid takes Hogans place up forward. Vince takes Trengoves place in the backline. Jones takes JKHs place in the midfield. If anyone else is dropped than Maynard will likely be given a crack based on him being elevated to senior list and performing well again in the VFL.

I agree.  You can't be a player who occasionally goes through the midfield, have 3 possessions in a losing team and expect to stay in.  So Hannan has to go.  Vince and Jones will come back in.  I think Trengrove  will be the one to make room as the second out.  Maybe they'll give Maynard a go for JKH.   Weid couldn't have done much more in todays VFL game to take Hogan's place , but I think they'll want at least 3 in a row at that level before they bring him back.  So Pedo to take Hogan's place.

Funny about the composure, rarely do you see our players back themselves to kick a long goal, happening week in week out apart from petracca's couple on the run and Hunts bomb, it must be team rules not to do it in fear of missing.  Vince seems to have a licence but now lacks penetration. Tmac , Tyson and Hibberd could have went back yesterday with the win!d and didn't ice it.

Out :Hogan,JT,Hannan

In :Pedo,Jones,Maynard

Hannan appeared to have little influence .He"ll be back in soon enough.

Pedo over Weed at this stage because the Pedo is so damn versatile.

Give us a look at Corey if he has earnt it.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
