Apparently sparking a bit of interest outside the club.  Doesn't strike me as very likely to leave - I expect the club values him greatly and he will get an offer accordingly, and he seems to me to be a particularly loyal person. I reckon he will want to be a part of what is to come.

It's definitely been an amazing career turnaround, and just goes to show what can be done with some struggling players with a decent system around them. He's become one of our most consistent players and definitely a personal favourite of mine.

I love his story, and the fact he vindicated my seemingly illogical faith in his ability to be a solid contributor at AFL level, despite his lack of opportunity.

I wonder if his being delisted made him more committed to and accepting of a role in the BP, when he was often found venturing further afield prior to that?
Albeit, often played in positions further afield also, to my understanding.

And well they should be; he's been solid as a rock for the last three years.

With that said, I'm very surprised that he's a free agent as we delisted him at the end of 2013.

Can't see him leaving at all after we gave him a second shot at it back in 2013. Seems a very loyal type. Just can't see it happening.

Agreed.  FWIW I tried to frame this as a positive thing (as that's how I saw it) rather than a WOE IS ME, HE MIGHT LEAVE type thread.

I believe it's about continuous years of service to one club. Nev didn't have a year off, he's been on our list each year since he started.

Love Jetta. And I have said it before, but the mrs picked him as her favourite a few years back just before his improvement, and she definitely backed a winner.

His agility is his big asset, he can turn on a sixpence, has clean hands, competes well in the air, has tidy disposal and is a tough little bugger.

Regardless of continuous years of service, he was available to be drafted by every club after we delisted him. It's absurd that he qualifies for FA.

Really can't see him leaving, but money can talk to just about anyone. He has a young family to think about.

I'll be relieved when he's locked away.

Agree about money talking, and agree about his form over the past 18 months but taking nothing away from him he is a small defender, so we should be able to match any offers. All clubs can only pay so much, small defenders are rarely top of the shopping list, can't see anyone paying overs even considering how good his form has been.

Story doesn't even mention other clubs. Poor journalism just plucking random FA and writing random articles about them and then talking about that players history.

Nev has been great the last two years. His confidence has grown and his speed around the ground has improved with it. He has been one of the reliables this season, make him a good offer and lock him in.

I mentioned this in the game day thread yesterday. Jetta is an A grade defender now. He's been beating his opponent every week since the start of 2015. He holds our backline together and wins contests in the same way that Rance does. Given Rance is lauded as one of, if not, the best defender in the league, I'd say Jetta is not far behind. He is criminally underrated, at least in the media. This news appears to suggest internally opposition clubs rate him very highly.

Well done, Nev. You're a star and I loved your high five down at Geelong last year. :)

Oh and no fears Jets will leave. None whatsoever.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
