  1. I'm just not into it, they were stupid actions & now they take their penalties. Time to look at the replacements. From...Pedo, Spencer or perhaps we unleash the bull in T Smith, also Bugg, Kent, Treners, Kennedy. Frost might be ready, not sure avb, Keilty can't be far away, and of course Bernie will be back. Replace the soldiers and fight on.
  2. He's not the messiah.......he's just a very naught boy!
  3. That's a great report thanks DS. I saw the last of the training, when they were doing the run-throughs. I also spotted Benny K dropping well off the pace, seemed to be really struggling. He was a leading light at trainings early in the year and started the season well, but then dropped away around June/July and somehow doesn't seem to have recovered. I hope he picks up again. I reckon he is a good little forward worth a couple of goals a game.
  4. This is great news. Dom had a good year and I reckon the next three will be better. It would be nice if Jesse did the right thing and followed suit.
  5. Don't worry, it was on the nose anyway.
  6. Shaun Hart used to be called Dewf when he was at Brisbane.
  7. I can't remember what this thread was about but the nickname part is funny. I have heard the players yelling out "Killer" to Watts at training, and I still think "Nibbler" is great for Neal-Bullen. What is odd though, is that they all seem to call Dawsey "Chris". Doesn't seem to have a nickname or just prefers Chris. Strange, I can think of a few for him.
  8. I have been asking the same question Hoges. It was the same with the Saints game, our home game at Etihad? I hope we are getting some decent coin for these losses. I would rather they played the home games at the G and have a real go at winning them.
  9. Nev has been great the last two years. His confidence has grown and his speed around the ground has improved with it. He has been one of the reliables this season, make him a good offer and lock him in.
  10. This is indeed an in-depth analysis Adam and has taken you some time to compile, thank you. The only thing I can add is to do with the ages of the players on our list. As I calculate it, right now we have 19 players who are 21 years or less. Of those 19, 11 have played less than 5 games. (5 of those 11 have played zero games). The other 7 of the 19 are getting regular games now and have 137 games between them, that's an average of less than 20 games each. They are Hoges, Salem, Gussie, Stretcher, JKH, Nibbler and Harmes (ok, not all getting regular games!). Also, Viney, Kent and Benny K are only a year ahead of those guys. So the way I see it, when all these players (most of them hopefully) get to 50 or 80 games over the next two or three years, many of the older or fringe players will have dropped off (Terlich, Matt Jones etc etc), new players will have been brought in, and new draft picks will make up the balance. I reckon this will be the real turning point for us. I am prepared to roll with a few losses and a few weaknesses while these young guys build into experienced contributors. Not that it's fun like last week and the Essendon game, but if we can keep getting a few wins and get games into these young guys, it will be our time very soon.
  11. That is so funny TF. The nag is a fair bit more graceful than our Hoges.
  12. Thanks for the report Wayne. I called by for a brief look also just in time to see Jeffy limping off, didn't look good for this week. Was interested to see the drill from the half back flank either down the line or across the centre and then into goal. Looked a bit like the manoeuvre Essendon pulled on us about 20 times last Saturday, nice to see we are learning something from our games.
  13. Haven't seen any comments about Fitzy being touted as a possible replacement for Roughead at Hawthorn. It would be a finger up to the Dees is he became a regular in their side.

  14. Great initiative with the Neale Daniher Trophy for best player today. Pray a demon wins it (though not sure who might do that).
  15. It was clearly advertised that the open training session started at 12:00. We arrived 15 minutes early to get a snag and watch the boys train for an hour or so. By 1:30 they were just getting their jumpers on for a warm up. We had to get our car from a two hour spot some walk away so we left. A family next to us with four boys did the same. This is why we have been on the bottom of the ladder these last years. This would not have happened at Hawthorn, that's why they are on the top!!!
  16. I agree, when was the last time Jamar took a contested mark around the ground? He's no value up forward, kicks for goal go sidways. He had his best year tapping down to Beamer who could clear for us, but that's history, so is Jamar. Stick with Spencil and Gawny for the ruck, with backup from Fitzy. Also, I reckon JKH could be the new flash with a few more games under the belt.
