You are at the negotiation table. Do you:

A) play "hard ball" in order to get the best deal, make every deal take far longer than they need to, holding yourself up and annoying every counterparty in the game?

B) move straight towards your best offer, get the deal done swiftly and efficiently, allowing you to move forward on your bigger fish you have to fry and building up goodwill with your counterparties for future deals?

I haven't followed juniors this year, however, from a purely theoretical point of view, if Curnow is as good as touted and plays the Stringer type role he must be our choice at pick 3.

Or Francis if they see the same type of potential and rate him higher.

Which is exactly what you are doing. Calling the early crow on this trade, then calling out Demonlanders for going early, bit hypocritical.

It is now Pick 3 & 7 which affords further evidence as I suspected this FD was never sitting on their hands

As others have said Demonlanders need to realise this club is very different to the one from 2011-13

Great outcome, but the proof will be in the players recruited. We've been down this road before.

One big difference mo64

The people running the FD know what the hell they are doing.

A) Essendon.

B) Melbourne.

Probably put St Kilda in the former as well. I don't think there is a right answer to it. Playing hardball could also deter players to consider other options in the future. Essendon appear to take this approach. IMO there are advantage/disadvantages to both strategies. In Essendons case - and Collingwood last year - if they rushed through their trades, they would've short changed themselves. Collingwood held firm last year and gained Crisp in doing so - he ended up 3rd in their Copeland medal. Essendon held firm and got a better deal off of St Kilda this year.

Pick 3 for me we have to take Parish. Clearly the best mid there is.

I highly doubt Essendon will take two key position players at 4 & 5 and we likely know who Gold Coast are looking at, so i'm confident one of Curnow, Francis or Weideman will be there at 7. Where as if we took a key positionat 3 there's no chance Parish will still be there at 7.

Bravo Dees, awesome effort to put ourselves in a position to grab two elite kids.

Who is Gold Coast Looking at?

An enormous LOL at those flogs that were bagging out Mahoney before the trade period had even ended. We've come out on top, out of all the clubs.

Sensational work from the MFC.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
