Yesterday was IMO his best Game in 2+ years

He has had a lot of shockers in between.

However lets hope he can build on Yesterday.

Hardtack there was a kid yesterday called Brayshaw who did exactly that in the last.

Much praise has been heaped on some players in the last and rightly so but IMO it was Brayshaw that was the trump player in the last quarter.

IMO he tore the Dogs to shreds.

Have you forgotten our huge hearted skipper? And, when fit, is Dom is good. And maybe Salem through the middle. And if it was Trengove's foot that stifled him the past few years, and the surgery is successful, he could be handy in the midfield too. And Bernie. And AN-B could surprise.

So that could be another five, maybe six. Now IF all came good together (I know, a big IF) then we would have the quality mid numbers required to become a serious contender.

They have given Jetta the extra week because this week is indigenous round and they wanted him fresh and didnt want to risk him. He is a lock for Chad - beat him last year, will do it again.

Viney will 100% play. He adds so much to our midfield and makes oppositions look twice at the contest. Was on fire at the start of the season.

Goodwin and the midfield coaches are creating mids that can play hard defensive games (viney v ablett - vince v danger, bont, cotchin) and then win it themselves.

Very exciting.

Tyson is the line ball - He will want to play, he had his best games against Port Adelaide last year earning 3 votes in each. We saw the emergence of VandenBerg the midfielder against the dogs (he said in his post game interview "loved getting more midfield minutes") - that is directly associated with Tyson being out of the team. Tyson loves a goal and i reckon they would work really well together, rotating through half forward and midfield together.

It comes down to Riley or Newton making way if Tyson is fit. I dont think they will drop Newton because he is playing is old side and players always get up for that.

Serious selection headache (best supporter feeling ever), because if Tyson comes in.... who plays the sub? Probably Toumpas because it is unfair for Newton against his old side. But then it puts Toumpas on the back foot after his best game. Goodwin persisted with him in the seniors. that was definitely his call and it paid off.

Final comment: Alice Springs always slippery as... therefore definitely no luck for Gawn or Dawes. Additionally, Jack Watts is never much chop when its slippery and they are a very strong running team. Maybe you make Watts the sub so he is fresh when he comes on and can out run others.

The better question might have been "do we need Dawes at all?" Yes my Chagrin.

I think he might get another week off.

Calf injuries are difficult to get over and he has had problems with them in the past.

Is a defensive forward a necessity? If so, if M Jones and Bail don't play, who takes that role? M Jones on Murphy and Bail on Johanisen (sp?) did their jobs. However, if Viney, Tyson and Jetta are ready - meaning fully ready - they should come in for any three out of Bail, M Jones, Riley, Newton and Brayshaw (only if he needs a rest).

Interesting point. One of ports biggest strengths has been their ball movement off half back. Once they get that part their game going they're almost impossible to stop.

So with that in mind I'm kind of torn over the idea of dropping jones and bail. As underwhelming as they are to watch and as I much as I want to see Viney and Jetta back, these are two guys who just successfully played a type of role on the weekend that could go a long way in helping us get a win over port.

It is good to see Jack back to the way he can play and with BETTER disposal. Adds another string to our bow.

I think Fitzy is almost Garland like in spite of his size. He is very quick, and will out mark all medium forwards. It has to be a real strength, especially what looks like being dry conditions in a mild climate. fitzy has to play IMHO. Edited May 26, 2015 by Dees2014

We have a cracking win and some people want 4 changes. Roos doesn't like major changes even when we lose. Viney and Jetta if fit are definite starters. No way Tyson is right with just a weeks rest and his form wasn't great prior. When you have form players and you win you can afford to get him right. Same goes for Dawes and either way Pederson has shown more in the last two weeks than Dawes when fit recently. If Matt Jones is fit should play and play defensive role on Pittard. Different type of player I know but Riley showed more to me than Newton who again I thought was only ok when in possession so Newton out if Matt Jones is fit.
