Was just reviewing the 2022 draft class... Does anyone have any updates on Matt Jefferson? I haven't seen him in any photos or training or commentary.

What is everyone's thoughts on the having a forum that is just dedicated to photos taken by demonlanders of the players? We used to have the most incredible cameraman at demonland (better than the MFC crew imo)... haven't seen any this year?

Has anyone dusted off their camera's this year? Can't wait to see the amazing photos demonlanders put up. Better than the clubs photographers imo.

Has anyone seen the media conference with Goodwin yet? Normally comes up ahead of the AFL media article. Benny Gibson having the arvo off, maybe cause they are travelling to QLD.

Does anyone know where to keep up to date with VFL performances across the league? Who has most goals? Disposals? Tackles in the VFL?

What can we get from Freo in return if Jackson leaves? As a starting point is has to be 2 first round picks, with 1 inside the top 5. Or a 1st rounder + a player. Could we go for Rory Lobb and a top 10 pick? What happens if Freo can't satisfy the trade - given luke is not contracted to us?

On watching Goodwin's post game interview and looking at the team stats... i've found a glaring hole. We had 0 tackles inside 50 - https://www.afl.com.au/afl/matches/3968#team-stats We are number 1 in that stat and ave. 11 in 2022. 0 tackles inside 50 will kill the coaches, it will be a huge focus this week and the reason why we gave up 110 points. Our game is built off Fwd half pressure. Melksham had 7 tackles last week but 0 this week. He will suit Optus and has a beautiful field kick. I do think he provides a point of difference and some class up forward. But if he stays, then Spargo, Neal-Bullen, Pickett need be laser focus on Fwd half pressure. Spargo needs a spell in my opinion. He just doesn't hurt you enough offensively or defensively. Got beaten at half forward multiple times 1-1. I would like to see Chandler get a go. He is more explosive than spargo and can defend too. How can we have a small forward that literally averages a goal every 4 weeks. Also Tomlinson is so weak in the 1-1 contest. But the defensive back 7 always looks better with pressure up the ground...

Just had a look at some Eddie Betts comparisons to King Kozzie... It took Eddie 7 years in the system to kick 6 goals vs KK at 3 years.. I don't know where to put this but thought was interesting to share. Since R10 2020, we have lost 10 times. 8/10 of those losses are from only 4 teams: Freo, Dogs, Swans, Collingwood. The outliers are the dodgy Adelaide game (R10, 2021) and a GWS game (R16, 2021) which are aberrations. It was interesting hearing on the couch how J Brown was saying Melbourne matches up really well against Brisbane for leg speed and spread around the contest. I feel like we have the Dogs metal post GF but need to look at alternative ways/matchups for Freo/Swans/Collingwood down the stretch.

Gus will stay. He has his family here, danielle, the dees, george gawn, RMGC... so nothing to worry about. The only concern is for our list management strategy. Other teams show interest in RFA and increase their value knowing full well they won't switch. It drives up there price meaning we pay more than we had to. Can make it difficult to keep the whole team together. Just need to keep winning because the premiership window trumps all. Role players will sacrifice big coin for premierships and then move on to get paid at the end of their career with a good CV... Brandon Ellis did it going from Richmond to Gold Coast.

I was at the dees v sydney game and it was a disappointing crowd. I am very happy for Petracca, the guy who has committed his career to the MFC to say what he said. The teams motivation for 2022 was to play in front of us! They have said that ever since they won the flag last September. It's embarrassing that we have 62000 members and less than 20000 turn up on a Saturday night. We need to get the MCG rocking again... i don't agree with turning the music off after a goal... turn it up when we kick one! I am not going to the football to sit patiently and quietly. Stay warm by getting involved and supporting. FORTUNATELY, a week in football is a long time. As a supporter base, we need to get back from our long weekends in time for the Monday Queens birthday blockbuster. Get the kids up and about, get the uncles on board. Make it happen because many of us haven't been to the football in weeks (the numbers speak for themselves). We need to be there in full flight to get our season back on track before the bye. Get the whole family along, even if it is to just support Neale Daniher, who will be there! Come on Dees fans, no more excuses.

Incredible talent coupled with dedication to his craft. Was looking at the 2014 draft this morning (again)... it is my favourite followed closely by the 2019 masterstroke draft. I noticed Jarrod Pickett, WA junior star who went at pick 4 to GWS. Is he related to Kozzie? Does anyone have any colour on Kozzie's family tree? I've only heard of Uncle Nev and Byron so far as they are tied to the Dees. Keen to admire the history of this incredible football surname and its relatives.

I just went onto ticketek and can pretty much get 10 tickets anywhere on the ground... We need to sell more tickets. Does anyone know how many Adelaide based Melbourne supporters we have? Otherwise, club needs to be smart and get the Neal-Bullen's, Trengroves, Petty, Vinces, Toumpas etc families on speed dial and hand out free tickets... non negotiable. Do we have anyone on demonland that has contact into demon headquarters? Message needs to be conveyed. (need to avoid a similiar scenario to dogs v essendon in tasmania, which was a dogs home game but was full of dons supporters)

Selfless in his sacrifice of offense to defend for Trac and Oliver. - Salem re capturing his early season form. Two good games in a row and building. All Australian squad announced today... Petracca, Gawn, Oliver, Lever are locks. May, Fritsch, Salem to make squad.

I like the romance of bringing Jones into the side this week (see what the kid from Dandenong will do to keep his spot heading into finals). Worked his way back from a calf... finding the footy in 2's playing on ball... will stick to a role, similar to JJ's or Sparrow's and he is much safer with ball in hand than Sparrow, JJ and Viney. I'd leave Bowey, he was fantastic. Loved how clean he was. Sparrow needs time. That turnover in the 1Q will happen again and again against the good sides... not up to it yet. Just came across an interesting stat when I noticed Lever had spent most time on ground in the comp this year. We have 7 of the top 34 players across the league. Seems high. Lever, Langdon & May make sense given roles and fitness. However - Clarry, Petracca and Gawn definitely surprised me. Bulldogs only have Keath. Lions only have Andrews, Daniher, Hipwood. Most players on this list are key position forward or back. I think we are struggling at clearance because the big 3 are exhausted. I think we need to mix it up in the middle, increase rotations which we seemed to be doing more of earlier in the year (ie pickett rotating through midfield). While the game has less rotations and resting mids forward/back is becoming more common, the reality is we are leaving our star mids out there for longer than other teams.

Does anyone have any Bowey highlights from his Casey games? He seems to take kick ins at Casey, interested to see the other aspects of his game and link off half back in play. 29 touches/8 marks/5 tackles is good going.

It is a mistake imo. We had nobody to kick to for large parts of the Essendon game. Also, McDonald plays 5x better when another key forward in the side. Brown had earnt his spot.
