Yeah thanks Howe, could have decided all this crap before you went to Bali you [censored], now we have to continue to wait on you while players are traded and signed all week, could miss a big fish while you decided which club you want.

All the comments about Jeremy stuffing us around seem to miss the more likely point that we are forcing his hand and leaving him with little option.

As another poster alluded to, he is the opposite of Watts in that other clubs perceive his value to be more than what we do.

I suspect Mr Howe knows where he's going. Has done for a while.

This is Reality Footy 101...you know...where nothing's real.

Really not the sharpest tool in shed is he.

OCTOBER 12, 1.58m: HOWE NOT GONE YET

AFL.com.au's Nick Bowen reports Jeremy Howe hasn't walked out on Melbourne just yet.

"Jeremy Howe remains more likely to leave Melbourne than stay but is yet to request a trade, his manager says.

"Reports on Monday said Howe had requested a trade from Melbourne but the high-flying utility's manager, Ben Niall of Scopo Management, told AFL.com.au his client had yet to decide his future.

"Howe has received offers from Gold Coast and North Melbourne, while a third club – believed to be Collingwood – is also likely to table an offer this week.

"The 25-year-old Tasmanian is on holiday in Bali, but returns to Melbourne late this week.

"Niall said his client should then be able to compare the offers from the Demons and his rival suitors, and decide where he wants to play next season."

Late this week? He's kidding isn't he?

Make the call and let's get on with it. This is getting silly.

I have a nasty feeling that we're going to regret losing him.

I don't. Think you'll find club will ramp up the process now he's been nudged out the door.

The more I think about it, the more I realise that Howe isn't an important part of this club going forward. Played some really good games for the club but he was always one of the first to go missing when the heat was on. I'll miss his marking ability but that's just about it.

So other clubs put offers in early then Pies come along at the 11th hour and hold up the whole process!

They may not even put in an offer this week or may drag it out to next week and it gets held up by the Aish/Treloar/Freeman trades. Then we scramble to get other trades done at the last minute.

I'll say it again I don't trust the Pies nor their motives.

I am concerned that GC and North take their offers elsewhere and we are stuck with only a Pies offer!

Mr Nial, they have phones in Bali you know!

MFC, give them a deadline and stop this stupid shadow dancing!

I don't trust the pies either. They are the shonky used car salesman of trade week! (no offence to car salespeople)

Suns seem very keen on him which suggests, with the interest from other clubs, that they might be willing to part with Pick 3 for Howe and Pick 6. Moving up three spots allows us to take who we believe to be the best midfielder in the draft, or gives us a little extra power in terms of trying to pry an A grade mid loose from somewhere.

Either way I think it's in our best interests to try and send him to QLD.

Maybe I am looking at this hypothetical deal the wrong way, but unless there was a pick coming back with 3, that we could use to get say Bugg, I see it as a poor deal for us.

Anyway it is hypothetical only.

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form
