MCG 171m x 146m

Coburg 165m x 140m

Sandringham 160m x 120m

Punt Road 159m x 124m

Williamstown 165m x 135m

Preston 169m x 127m

Footscray 161m x 123m

Are we doing the wrong thing by trying to force two talls into our fwd line. Look at the pies last night, McStay is a bust, was talking to a few pie supporting mates and they would rather Ash Johnson. He’s more mobile, little bit of X factor about him and a more reliable set shot. I think we should be playing Smith ahead of Petty, he ticks the first 2 boxes, hard to say on the goal kicking as there’s only a limited sample size for both.

Happy that Tommo and Woey have held their spot

Thought the former might've been dropped for Petty

Woey will have his quiet patches, but IMO worth getting games into him

Will we see Blake Howes before the season finishes?

Another loss to NZ coming up...

Union is an example of a sport that went from high profile to unseen. (Lesson...never put your premium product behind a niche paywall)

Bledisloe Cup in lead up to a World Cup. Should be a decent crowd, too big for AAMI

Rugby audiences are actually way up vs 5 years ago… but the current Wallabies performance isn’t helping this year.

I'm hoping the ins are Petty and Hibberd.

Would like to see Rivers rotate through the middle more to backfill some of Sparrows time. Hibberd to cover more of Rivers role.

Pleased to see Tomlinson not omitted. Means Petty will play forward and they will hopefully see how it looks over the next few weeks.

I hope Smith stays sub as Mr. Versatile. Spargo to keep pressing to try to force Chin out but I liked the balance of smalls we had last week in the forward half, especially if Trac continues to spend more time there.

Now ya talkin'

Mcstay had 2.2 goals, 7 marks and 4 marks inside 50… what else did you want him to do?

Its an unfortunately secret blessing given the bogan rubbish that is League overwhelms it

If only they got more air time...at least so I could work out why it's the game played in heaven

Goody has been mind-melting the competition all year, just hope he gets the balance right between experimenting and having team cohesion. I think he's been great. If we go deep I reckon his preferred setup will be Grundy in, Petty back and, sadly, Tommo to miss. If it does happen that Grundy doesn't make it back, well at least we took the second best ruckman in the comp out of the comp.

Tomo's in fine fettle and the FD may have learned their lesson post the last time they swapped Petty straight in.

Should hold his spot unless Hibb is back to full flight on the GPS etc after tomorrow's game and we need him for particular match ups.

Petty will need to up the ante up forward tomorrow.

the dees seem to be only putting in for half the game, last week they played well for half of each of the four quarters, did not put together one 4 quarter effort. similarly in other games we put in a few good moments but then seem to let the opposition back in. it would be good to see 4 quarters out of them.  All games are important to win at this stage of the year, none should be taken for granted.

Tomo = Selection integrity and this is what builds confidence and cohesion amongst the 22.

Woey .... spot on.  Some ppl expecting him to be racking them up so early at this level have no idea.

While SOS may be slightly out of his depth tank wise at this early stage, the quality, decision making and finish is building when he does get on the end of it with ball in hand.

Will he just roll on without ever going back for a reset or managed at Casey?  Of course not!

But in the mean time we're getting valuable experience into a player who will eventually become a very very good regular 22 (at worst) and possibly a champion 200 plus gamer for the MFC going forward.  Enjoy the ride folks!

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
