We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

POSTGAME : Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs

Incredibly angry about tonight's performance. We need to do better than that!

The Demons had their chances to win but made far too many mistakes.

Not hungry enough attacking the ball either.

I cannot help but call out Steven May's absolute howler of a kick which was one of the main factors why we lost the game to the Bulldogs.

In the end the Bulldogs were more desperate and wanted to win the game more.

The Demons players certainly need to pull their fingers out if they expect to be any chance against Fremantle next week in Perth.

Imagine potting a bloke playing one one leg

Seriously spare me this weak minded excuse.

If your willing to put yourself out on the field then you're telling everyone that you're clearly fit enough.

If you're playing on one leg tonight then absolute stupidity to let a player play on a bung leg while we have a fit player sitting on the bench. Why could they sub him off with his 'one leg' as you called it.

The doggies took full we advantage of this and exposed him out on the wing going forward. It was very evident to see.

A few mistakes in the last cost us: ANB and Viney, both trying to do too much, pinged, resulting in goals. Then the May turnover. Not much in it, and Dogs played really well with a couple of their on-the-cusp players really standing up: English and JUH. Both had great games.

Issue for me is with the backline. Lever out, Thomlinson just not up to it, missing Bowie and his pressure and disposal, but the biggy in all that for me is Salem, a shadow of his usual self both defensively and kicking out of the backline.

Was on ABC Radio this afternoon talking footy and BBQ’s and meat preparation with Matt Preston! Said he hoped to have the screw removed from his foot in round 20 and though his foot would be stiffer he hoped to be involved in the finals.

Everything has to be perfect recovery and training wise for him to play a part this year.

I was confident pre game and for virtually the whole game thought we would win but what an absolute horrible loss. I have never yelled at the tv as loudly as that. The bulldogs have quickly caught up to Carlton as my now equal second most hated club and are rapidly catching Essendon.

The inconsistency of the umpires tonight was off the charts.

Petracca, May and Gawn as leaders of the club just aren’t playing well enough.

As gutted as I am right now I think at least we played some better footy than we have been, still heaps to work on though. The season is as even as it has ever been and where still in it, not the way where playing at the moment but just gotta hope where on the improve and Geelong and others lose some form.

Honest question- was Weid injured in the last half? Not being smart, but Did not see him.

He spent so much time on the bench after quarter time i was wondering the same myself. They even threw May forward in the last quarter, WTF?

That goal he gifted them turned out to be the difference between us winning or losing the game.

No it did not, if your blaming him for losing then you are not watching the game 8 goals to four after halftime not good enough.

May only went forward because he was following Bruce as they had dropped numbers back in the last 2 minutes.

Our Tall fwd structure went to brown logs in the 2nd half.

Brown and Lever big omissions tonight. Would rather they missed tonight and lose than risk an unwanted Mid term injury this deep into a season.

We had no legs in the second half. All the signs of fatigue were there. Our flanks and mids disappeared. We were second to the ball. Not getting to contests. This correlates perfectly to every game fatigue has played a factor. It seems to happen identically when it happens.

then there was the dogs getting the bounce of the ball all game which is partly hard work and partly luck. Then there was the umpiring, which in a three point game obviously cost us the game. Statistically a game decided by less than a goal is pure chance. Throw in the free kick gap from the blatant dual application of the rules and there’s your game. To suggest the umpires didn’t affect the game is noble but [censored] in this case.

we looked the best we’ve looked for a while in periods during the first half. I expect to see more of that moving forward.  I think we are trending positively. They played out of their skin and got a limo to the finish by the umps and just got over us. Both they and Geelong had to bring their best stuff and only just got over us despite being significantly fresher. We won’t change our game plan so we need more pack marking ability. Weideman just can’t do it. He’s never shown that ability.

I thought Steven may was good. Took lots of strong marks when no one else was. The late turn over although it cost us doesn’t define his game tonight. Max got ragdolled which was hard to watch.

we will look better next week. Plenty to play out still. Our season had been declared over by the majority at pretty much exactly this point last year.

We were robbed by the umpires. I cleaned up punting live in betting because of it, but I’d rather have won zero money. I had a lot of calls after the game saying “well done mate you cleaned up”. But I’d rather have not cleaned up. Fact is. Football is a hard game to win when your morale is continuously obliterated by the umpires. The bullies free kick count is just the usual for them. But for us, we can only go to the well so many times. It’s like a handicap in harness racing. We can come off of 10 and still win,’ come off 20. But if we keep coming off handicaps eventually you get rolled due to circumstance. Ideally we’d be treated fairy. Ironically, the answer isn’t to change our game, it’s it’s double down. Do we have players who play for free kicks? And if we do, get them out the side. Come September the teams who don’t get the arm chair ride off the umps - that they are used to - won’t last.

Max is being ****canned on this site!!!

He had 25 disposals - 16 kicks, 9 handballs , 8 marks.

May - Stop spraying blokes when you're half the problem

He needs to be shown the vision of him mouthing off at Brayshaw, followed by his turnover in the last in front of the entire playing group.

Seriously, who does this guy think he is? He’s been poor since his brain fade at entrecôte. He’s all too happy to call others out on the footy field, it’s about time he got a taste of his own medicine.

Rubbish. Absolute and utter garbage. We are so far from lazy it makes my blood boil. Take a look at our draw. We keep coming up against sides with less rest and more favourable conditions.

I was at the ground tonight. The players tried their absolute guts out. It’s not about want, or skill. We are exhausted, with a full day less break plus interstate travel and missing 2 of our most important structural players. The Dogs played out of their skin - but Ugle-Hagen may never kick 5 goals again in his life. He had a day out where he could do no wrong. Fair play to him but it’s not a reliable game plan.

Our team is trying so incredibly hard and fronting up against a lot - and the footy gods are not smiling on us at all. You need a bit of luck, and instead we keep getting injuries and a lack of cohesion.

I can’t cope with people putting down our players any more. It’s pathetic. These boys won us a flag and are doing everything in their power to go again, and a lot is going against them.

Frankly they’ve been incredible.

Every loss has been such a hard battle and teams and players always seem to have their "best win of the season" against us.

Still, it's concerning how much we are scored against in second halves. I don't think we're "there" this year to win. I'm not convinced we have what it takes to go back to back yet.

Is Jackson thinking about his house in Perth? He was disappointing.

I felt like the dogs players always found targets while we were just bombing it.

I still cannot work out our best forward line

Everyone finds targets against us due to never manning up. On certain occasions they need to man up not let every team on the comp walk it to the wing so they get a free ball into their 50. And please just once on a kick in from a point just kick it to the RIGHT HAND SIDE and make them play fetch. At least we'll win the odd one on one.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
