Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I noticed this. I thought it was a fault with the long sleeve version but I assume that Langdon was wearing the long sleeves too?

At best an example of our brilliant defence and defensive game-plan, at worst fumbly, ugly, over-possessing, wiffly footy. Assuming it was dewy, cos our skills were very ordinary. Last quarter fade-out fair enough considering 3 games in 18 days. I think.

Far out. The bar has gone through the roof with some of you people. It was a good, strangling win. Not great, not particularly exciting - the Jordon touch on the line was the only time my heart rate got above resting, but we got the job done.

I'm just waiting for someone to say we're the worst 4-0 side of all time or something.

Dazzle has lost the plot.  Time to get the mute button going again

Neither Weid nor TMac were any good. I don't mind who gets dropped for Brown, but there should be no doubt that one goes. Pickett is doing a lot defensively but just cannot get in form with ball in hand. And I'm still not convinced by Hunt.

Agree on this. It's obvious they're both at least a class below Brown. Can't wait for him to come back.

[censored] you Melbourne. That was a trash display of footy.

Had the opportunity to really put the foot down but instead we tried to be too cute with our ball use going forward. 3 weeks in a row now that we've just played sloppy and let opposition back into the game.

Are McDonald and Weideman actually for real?? 2nd week in a row where they've had opportunity to cement their spot while Brown is out and both failed miserably.

Both could barely give a contest or bring the ball to ground. Sooner these two are phased out for good the better.

Petracca is a star and all but [censored] hell he's sloppy and selfish at times.

Thank God for Steven May.

Consecutive 6 day breaks. Hard to put the foot down on that.

Weid is Weid. Will always struggle to make position and create space against good opponents. That said, the times he was wide open the kick went nowhere near him. Mids couldn’t chain handballs to get free of pressure and hit him up. Handball, handball, handball, run in to pressure, bang it on the boot.

Tom is also Tom. He bought a lot of balls to the ground tonight. Not pretty but hardly the worst. Did his job and secured his spot.

Come on mate. We are 4-0, won 11 in a row coming off a short pre season, just getting our backline back together and coming off another short break and 2 interstate games in a month.
We are strategically saving energy and getting through this first part of the season.
We were not in great form at the start of last year either but we were just so happy to win games.
Well nothing has changed.

Weideman back to the magoos

I would prefer mcdonald going back to find some form, he does not chase and has not provided a lot of drive this year, hope he can recapture his form. Dropping him may give him the drive to try a bit harder, chase a little more. Weids needs a chance to show what he can do, this was obviously not the game for forwards, with our poor inside 50's.

We conceded 35 points because they did not kick straight if they had it would have been far different, we only had 2 scoring shots more than they did and they had a whole range of good players out. I must say i was disappointed we did not do better. definitely some good defense and running but our entry into the forward line was pretty disappointing. We showed such dominance at times but could not put it on the score board, that is where it counts.

This is a classic example of focusing on a stat without having any regard for context.

Their shots were misses because they were taking shots from awful positions. Take a look at the shot map. 8 of their 12 behinds were from 45+ metres out, most of which were on a 45-degree angle or more. Another two behinds were hard up on the boundary.

They were taking shots from outside 50 because they couldn't work out how to take a mark inside 50, because of our defensive dominance.

If you think tonight was just "some good defence" I'm sorry but you have no idea what you're watching. Tonight was elite defence.

Coming off two consecutive six day breaks, I'm happily taking a 5-6 goal win. Some of the boys looked spent in the final quarter.

Great to see Maxy back to his best. Jordan continues to improve week by week

Mids were too busy going one ball too many which then cause turn over.

I know mids are just as much to blame but both Weid ans McDonald barely got to enough contests to bring the ball down.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
