Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I reckon we've seen every emotion other than anger from this group over the last few years.

Viney and May possibly aside, the only thing you ever see from our players is either jokes and smiles or head down sad sacks who come back a day later full of promises again.

We get it, they have to say stuff, articles have to be written etc, but these words just ring so so empty to Dees fans.

Frustratingly true.

Do half of them even give a [censored]? Does the jumper mean anything anymore.. I think its all about the instagram likes and fame unfortunately for these blokes.

Start by canning the Gus Gawny podcast. Nothing but open bullying to Ben Gibson.

Freo by 20 points?

I think your wrong, The players are angry  so it will be a 7 or 8 point loss,

So they don't feel too upset when they put their hand out...   an honourable loss

I don't like the general immaturity, smartarsery and absence of modesty on this podcast.

Agree, it popped up in my podcast feed this week and I ignored it. Used to tune in regularly. Who dose it appeal to? Their teammates?

We are an insanely (or just insane perhaps) passionate group of football supporters who live in hope that our years of pain will someday end in us watching our beloved team hold the cup.  We want the players to hurt, but ultimately it is a game (a bloody good one).  The world is full of atrocities & tragedies.  That is real hurt.  Let’s put it into perspective.  The players are hurting in the context.  Accept it for what it is.  Now come on Dees, do something with this session.

No, more, talk. No more. I don't care for emotions anymore. Mark Neeld was an 'angry' coach that apparently didn't take any crap from anyone and we know what happened there.

The time has come to take a vow of silence and not say anything until we win a flag. Ok maybe a game.

mad as hell GIF

This is me every week during the footy season. This is what anger looks like lads. Keep that in mind when you take the field.

Cheers.

Glad they are angry, but anger is not a sustainable emotion. One can have a adrenaline spike caused by anger with positive results, but it can only be on a short-term basis.

I'd prefer a spike in fitness, skills, gameplan, teamwork, development, coaching, etc.

I really don't know what some people expect Gawn to say.  Of course it means little.  Given that he has to say something in this modern era, I'd like to see critical posters post some press releases here that are significantly better.

How about this Sue?

The players are aware we have a problem winning games we are expected to win. Our performances last year in Cairns were unacceptable. With a finals position on the line against two sides below us on the ladder, we simply choked. Some fans have accused us of 'drinking our own bath water'. Based on those performances in crucial games, they are correct. We let ourselves down but most importantly, we disappointed our fans . . . again. And for that, I say, on behalf of the players, we're sorry. You, the fans, supporters and members are the lifeblood of the club and provide us with a lifestyle most people can only dream about. And we abused your trust, support and love. For that, on behalf of the players, I apologise.

In 2021 we undertake to play a more accountable and disciplined style of game. This means further developing our individual strengths and minimising the influence our weaknesses have on the outcome of each game. For example, Jack Viney is committed to playing Aussie Rules each weekend, I'm gradually improving my goal kicking and hope to thread at least one per game this year and Maysie's target is to keep all the gorillas to two goals or less in each game he plays. All the players will be held accountable, both internally and externally, for their on field performances. To that end, Jack, Stephen and I will front the media each week, and on behalf of the players, answer for our performances as truthfully as possible.

Hey Sue, you never wrote back!

We have not had any angry players since Danny Hughes and Rodney Grinter. Boy we could do with them in this team even to run through a few of the so called big names at training.

Agree 100% DD. And Grinter was not just tough - he was incredibly skilled. A bit of Rhys-Jones about him. We could absolutely do with a few like that.

Not sure why anyone is triggered by these kind of articles. Essendon have 500000000 of them every pre-season, and I doubt their supporters get too upset by them.

get lost. I don't spend every minute of the day here.  My response will be sent shortly and you may be embarrassed about it.  I'd rather be happy go lucky than a misery guts.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
