Tyson or Brayshaw in for Maynard.

Wagner was good in the second half.

Garletts workrate was poor and playing Melksham permanently forward for 4qrts may be a better option, if they wish to pull trigger then Brayshaw comes in to play off HB and rotate through the middle.

Hunts decision making is woeful as is his disposal by hand and by foot. Menzals sitter he missed came from a lazy handball from Hunt to Maynard when we had free men down the line and streaming forward. Maynard was forced to track back and this allowed Geelong to get to the contest and eventually turn it over. When Hunt picked up the ball Clarrie was beside him and at the time I thought let the better user take the ball but he didn't

Tyson and Brayshaw must come in, unless we want to go with no midfield depth again and start the season 0-2.

A few are on thin ice, but no more than a couple of changes will be made.  I think Wagner survives but Maynard may get the chop.  I don't think they'll leave Tyson out for another week.

Brayshaw may get a look in as well for someone like Hannan.

Maynard, Lewis and Garlett all out.  One not up to it yet and the other two for not putting in the required effort.

Tyson, Brayshaw and someone to come in.  It may be worth bringing Frost in so Lever can do his third tall routine rather than having to shut out a tall opponent.  Otherwise it may be Dion Time.

I would bring in Frost to allow Lever to play his intercept game (ala the crows).

In: Frost  Gus and Tyson

Out: Wagner Maynard and Gartlett  (was poor today)

Brisbane’s only strength is it’s midfield and there are some very good players in there. Strengthen the midfield with Tyson and Brayshaw.  I was surprised on Thursday night when the team was announced and I’m still scratching my head.

IN: Tyson, Brayshaw

OUT: Maynard, Wagner

No VFL matches makes it hard for Spargo to get a gig (one practice game I think ?).

I think we could do worse than consider Bugg for someone ... perhaps Hannan

Brayshaw has to come in.

Frost is seeming to have his papers marked like Dunn and Garland before him.

Love him or loathe him, we are a better team with Buggy playing.

I was disappointed in the games of Garlett, Melksham and to a lesser extent ANB as well as Pedo after half time.   With no VFL this week it's hard to know who they will bring in if indeed they make any changes at all.

Frost has to play until Tom McDonald comes in. Lever is NOT a one on one defender.I said this on another post during the week. We basically took him away from his natural game. Awful selections.

Tyson and Brayshaw for Maynard and Tyson for anyone , but probably Garlett. He could not have given and stuff about being out there today.

And bugg for Garlett???

Wagner out. Brayshaw in to play HBF and rotate through midfield.
Maynard out. Tyson in to play midfield.

Frost to potentially come in to play FB, purely so Lever can play roaming CHB as third defender where he excels. Would then mean one of Hibberd or Hunt could push up the ground more. Not sure who would be dropped for Frost to bring that balance though.

Hannan and Garlett on a warning. If either have another down game next week then they are replaced by Bugg.

Will give Salem the benefit of the doubt after the big fall when he was tunnelled. 12 touches for a midfielder isn't good enough, so he needs to show some decent form next week.

Agree 100% with the ins and outs here. Wagner under no circumstances should play next week.

I'm at a complete loss with the changes. How are we going to play?

I'm going to presume we continue with man on man all over the field and not drop a 7th defender back for the full game like we did after half time. If that's the case Lewis has to play half back and play on an opponent. He can't play wing. It just doesn't work. ANB needs a chance to play wing and use his running power. So if Lewis goes back then Wagner comes out.

I'm going to give Lever the benefit of the doubt as a key defender for 1 more week. But only 1. Otherwise it's Frost time. But who comes out of that backline? Lewis? Vince?

Harmes and Petracca need to split midfield/forward time. Much like Caddy and Martin. Then we need another midfielder to cover the spot created by Lewis and I'd go with Brayshaw over Tyson.

Not sure what to make of Maynard. Did a lot right. Limited Gaz's influence. His athleticism is a plus. Think I'd keep him.

Out: Wagner, Garlett
In: Brayshaw, Bugg

FB: Jetta  Oscar  Hibberd
HB: Lewis  Lever  Hunt
C:  ANB   Oliver   Jones
HF: Melksham  Hogan  Bugg
FF: Hannan  Pedersen  Fritsch
Foll: Gawn  Petracca  Salem
Int: Harmes Vince  Maynard  Brayshaw

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
