Motlop has nominated Port.

I think Watts to Geelong will happen now.

With which pick and how much cash?

Dees will want low second round pick this year.

Cats have pick 21, 34 and will get 35 for motlop. They will need to offer 34 or 35 to GC for Ablett and won’t give up pick 21 for watts.

Cant see Melbourne accepting 35

So motlop going to power.  Sen 1116 still saying Watts will land at Port. What a period for port

Port had salary cap issues before the trade and rockliff and motlop haven’t helped the situation. Can’t see watts fitting in especially if Melbourne aren’t wanting to pay for his wages. In addition their first pick in the draft is pick 30. Can’t see them giving this up for watts

This post is meaningless.  It doesn't dispute my point, nor does it add to it.

I know all of the above and said as much in my post, and I was making the point that it's posts like his that have been taken as fact 5 pages later.

This Watts debate is seriously a joke now.

But you asked Ron ' you know this how'? when he did NOT say he knew it.

I don't disagree with your asertion that some opinion leads to things being accepted as fact. Said so myself, though I think the appropriate word is speculation since opinion is never evidence.  But I hestitated to attack your vocab.

I honestly don't really care if he stays or goes anymore...but it seems that if he goes, we will be selling at a fire sale price as neither or the interested clubs have much to give or are willing to give much. It's is what angers me about playing this out so publically. We showed our hand very early ...now it's as if he has to go..even if we get stuff all

Watts is holding out to go to Geelong...

He would have already nominated Port other wise.

Motlop compensation (likely 21) will be traded to the Suns in Ablett deal and Dees too receive one of Suns later 2nd round picks. Approx 25 or 26.

Are you saying pick 21 gets Ablett and pick 25..?

I find it very strange that these days people think they somehow have intellectual property rights over content they didn't create, but shared it to a social platform before others did.

(not a personal attack on you, just an observation)

How about Geelong handover pick 34 and pick 21 for Watts and we give them back pick 28

Gold Coast wants a player for Ablett, expect a player and pick 35 to Gold Coast, Watts and pick 45 to Geelong for Pick 21.

Package up the pick 27 and 36(Adl Pick) to Gold Coast for Pick 22 and 4th Rd pick to be sent to Fremantle for Balic.

Leaves us with Lever, picks 21, 22, Joel Smith and Balic.

Out Watts and picks

Plays out like that I reckon a pretty good trade week

In the last few minutes, H Sun reporting that Watts has chosen Port. Won't be announced till after Stringer trade goes through, though what the connection is I'm not sure.

Agree on the above re Port cap questions, but someone posted that they had plenty of room, so impossible to know. Think the Motlop to Port move would give Watts more, not less, of an incentive as it makes them more of a destination club.

Picks could be the sticking point, Port only have second round picks in the thirties (or thereabouts).

Total bloody disaster if that's all we end up with. Better off hanging on to him.

Agree it's slightly unders but we knew we'd be getting unders when we publicly kicked him out. It'd leave us with 28,30 and 35...I'm sure Taylor can't do some pretty good things with those 3.

But you are super naive if you don't think many of the players you're exciting about seeing next year in the red and the blue aren't currently texting each other in anger and frustration about the way in which Watts is being exited from the club.

Truth or conjecture?

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
