Everyone is toasting Roos and the players, naturally.    But my thought tonight (past midnight London time) is thank God for PJ.   The man who saved the MFC

Sorry I had to gloat & say I called it... my prediction yesterday morning :P

I said it in the preview thread.... Call me mad but I think we are a real chance today. I've said on this forum numerous times, I said at the start of the year we'd beat the Hawks once... The effort & performance last time means we wont be fearful of them today.

I can sense that this young group just have this feeling of "todays the day we arrive". We were down last week so we should be up & about if our inconsistent form rings true. I can just see us clicking today, I dont know why...

We have a pretty good blend of toughness, pace and firepower. If we get on a roll next year we could do some damage. Thank Christ they don't play GF's at Etihad.

Oh well, GameDay's a shocker anyway- they would've just fawned about bloody Cyril anyways.

I'll wait for channel 9 footy show. Absorbing/gathering all the media I can to help bathe in this experience.

Happy Sunday morning!

Roosy was saying in the post match presser that we won't be playing finals, but to my reckoning we're three games out of the finals and North Melbourne in 8th and three games clear of us face Hawthorn, Sydney and GWS in the last three rounds - all tough games. Whilst they're 9% clear of us, three drubbings and I believe we're still a mathematical chance? Or am I missing something.

Amazing to be thinking this way at Rnd 20...

I think we can still make finals if we win all 3 and North lose all 3 and make up the percentage difference. Tough 3 games for North too. Dare to dream. Highly unlikely, but......

Yep.

2005 all over again.

The situation is giving me ideas about next years season slogan - "No more if only"

The problem is we're relying on North to lose each game, which looking at that is quite probable. But they also need to cop a few beltings because we're about 10% behind percentage wise.

We then need to win the final 3, as we've seen this year we're not very consistent. Hopefully yesterday was the start of something special, hopefully we back it up next week and beat Port, a percentage boosting win would be handy.

Very true.

All the positive change in the club over the last four years stems from his leadership.  Was great to see him standing alongside Roos in the rooms waiting for the players.

GAMEDAY: Match SIM vs North Melbourne

After an agonizingly long off-season the 2025 AFL Premiership Season is almost upon us and the Demons have their first practice hit out against the Kangaroos in a match simulation out at Arden Street. The play start time was brought forward from the initial 11am bounce, due to the high temperatures forecast.  The match sim will consist of four 25-minute qu

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
