Dejavu.

The chance to win and break into the group of contenders, to be on an even keel with Adelaide and West Coast among others.

This is not the first time we've been in this place but every time in our recent history when we've been here, we've disappointed.

Tonight will decide whether we're in a new reality for the club or whether it's the same old same old.

What's it to be?

We are better than them.  We're not favourites. Expecting a landmark win but very very nervous.

Big Max to lead us to a comfortable win tonight, he will have a night out against Maric

But it is the first time that this group has been in this position and they are a far more competent group. If they play with the same effort as the last two then they should be good enough to win. Let's all be really positive today. GO DEES

After decades of misery and the recent debacle against Essendon as a measure of the depths we are still capable of sinking to.......how could you be optimistic?

^^^Agreed - I'm going tonight, but am not expecting a comfortable win by any stretch, or even a win to be honest.

We are still at the beginning of our long journey - consistency is what  I will be looking for tonight: if we can snag a win, then even better!

I think(hope) the Essendon game was a wake up call for all the players that if they don't turn up with intent they'll get beaten.  Also, serious pressure for spots amplifies the need to come ready for play.

Also, I said I was optimistic, not confident!!!?

Nervous as still getting used to the new us.

As many have said, another game to be won based on mindset.

Expecting to leave happy & looking forward to pre-game memorial.

Gees it's exciting.. Haven't had the feeling of waking up on the day of a game looking forward to a game that has some relevance since 2006 I reckon! Big stage, MCG, fighting to stay in the hunt around the 8, going for back to back wins, can really make it hard for the Tiges to make the 8 from a 1-4 start. Exciting stuff.. Like others have said we'll know for real if this clubs turned the corner tonight

No doubt Richmond are due to click at some stage. I think the betting odds skewed their way thru the week on the back of 2 big inclusions but I think this will be detrimental to them, particularly in the last quarter when they run out of steam, if not earlier.

If we bring the intensity and pressure of the last 2 games we will win comfortably. I think we will bring it, the Essendon loss may well be the best thing that could have happened to us, and we wont see a performance like that again for many years.

I keep thinking about how this game would feel to the tigers. They've been finalists for the last 2 years ( or is it 3) they won  9 or ten games straight to get there last year including beating the swans and hawthorn. Coach is under the pump. I think they're a stronger side with Deledio back in the mix and I think they ill come out breathing fire. Expect Jack watts to come under some physical heat early.

Im excited, not as confident as some here, but excited about the test this will be. At least I think they have the grunt to withstand a physical challenge. Our footy style looks better, the pace of ball movement seems like its arrived. Hoping we can stamp ourselves as arriving!! ( we're a long way off "arrived" yet)

Also have an inside word.. Delideo to miss. I wouldn't mind him playing though. Him and Maric both seriously underdone would be good especially with interchange cap

Having moved to the country in January, this will be my first game for the year. I went last year and it was an amazing pre-Anzac day  celebration, and a great win. Hogan took some amazing contested marks last year.

I love what is happening around our club at the moment but I still feel trepidation about every game we play. We can win well and match top four teams but we continue to wobble when confident. Our small forwards will win us the game (Garlett, Kent, Kennedy) and I can't see who they will play on Watts. I hope it is Chaplin because Watts will run off him.  Put Bugg on Dustbin Martin and watch the fireworks.

The best thing about tonight is the form of Richmond. They are probably playing the worst footy of any club at the moment.

Dees by 4 goals.

Pretty confident about tonight. Deledio will be ineffectual, and the Tigers hand balling game plan will get them into trouble tonight with our manic pressure. Hogan and Watts to dominate up forward, while Gawn, Vince and Jones to get on top of the Richmond midfield. Also, can't see the Tigers scoring much unless Jack Riewoldt absolutely kills Tmac which is unlikely. Dees to win by 40pts and to throw more pressure on Hardwick.

That slimey fellow Martin loves to play against us, he's a flat track bully and has loved pushing us around. We need to show him and his long arm up early and often.

Tigers started slow last year before they clicked so we can't take their recent form for granted. We have had the monkey on our back denying us back to back wins for a long time. If we bring the same attitude and pressure application from the past two weeks we are a good chance even if they improve significantly.

Because we've owned Richmond for years.

This is huge. I think we should get up but really, I'm nervous about it. We've all got that one Richmond mate that will get stuck in at any chance.

COME ON DEES!!!!

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
