MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19

I fail to see your point budge. Being negative for negative's sake? We are certainly up and down but the formula clicked very well last week.

sorry my fault, I'm misunderstood I'm mainly referring to the Ruck formula

I think Roos has decided that one of the most important things is developing the synergy of our best 22. This he is passing the core group together, rarely swings the axe (even when we are terrible). He has even given "future kids" a few more games than they deserve.

It may be frustrating for those outside the core 22 but none of them are really the future.

That being said, at times i really feel like selection has been poor for the appropriate match ups. Too tall or too short etc. And i feel that it has cost us on match days. Some games weer haven't given ourselves the best chance to be

competitive because of this.

we are a massive chance

Pies 11 losses/draw in a row SMASHED in '15

Cats 12 losses/draw in a row SMASHED in '15

North 13 losses in a row...

Plus look at their results, they haven't done much this year

sorry C & B this is stupid reasoning for being a massive chance to me, or are you just looking for a positive angle

Raising a glass to Fitzy tonight. Thankyou for your service. I will forever feel you were hard done by but it may be best for both parties. I wish you luck in your career and promise to support any future success.

Goldstein has played a major part in North's recent wins, and I reckon Jamar might play to help keep his influence in check. Michie misses out in my lineup, and ANB is sub.

North have a habit of putting in a shocker when least expected, and if the Gawn / Rush combination can keep Goldstien from dominating, and our boys turn up with last week's mindset, I give us a show. On a satisfaction rating, a win on Sunday would rank right up there with last week. I absolutely loathe the ..........s (insert the description of your choice).

it demonstrates very clearly that on two occasions already this year we went into a match with very little reason to expect victory, but on the day we stepped up and performed

If Jamar could replace Dawes as a solid lead up forward, he'd fill the role as back up ruck well, but yet to see Mark be able to play that role...

Michie was truly horr

If Jamar could replace Dawes as a solid lead up forward, he'd fill the role as back up ruck well, but yet to see Mark be able to play that role...

On the other hand, if we replace Michie with Jamar & go in with both Jamar & Dawes (as well as Gawn), they'll run it out of defence unopposed and we won't get within 50 points.

Jamar......would be very surprised. Offers nothing around the ground or up forward & is not our future. I have never had unrealistic expectations of Dawes .....don't get caught up on the money we paid....it's the nature of footy at the moment.....however he never disappoints me with his hardness at the contest and his leadership in the forward line.....& he will back up Gawn when needed.....some d'landers might not like him but his fellow players love him. No change for me

Hope maX isn't injured...just a thought.

I think we all do. Why do you raise this? If he was then maybe both Jamar and Fitz or Spencil would be named in the squad.

No need for Jamar. If we lose because Gawn gets tired then so be it, it's the best development for him having to guts it out. He took on 2 rucks against the Pies and whilst Goldstein might do more than 2 Pies rucks combined the ability to work head to head against 1 guy might make it easier.

Take your pick out of Michie, Newton or Matt Jones for the last bench spot. I'd probably stick with Michie but I'm not sure it's the right call.

Have a feeling about this game. Not suggesting a win, but that we'll be up and about. Had the same feeling last week, whereas a sinking feeling going into the St.Kilda game. I reckon the team is starting to believe in themselves. Then again.....

Mono, I don't agree. I think it is just that there has not been a position for him to play in recent games. I have been watching a few of our games from this season back to back. an early season game and then a later season game. It is an interesting way to see the development throughout the season.

Last night I watched the bulldogs game and in that game Fitzy stood out as one of the impressive defencive unit. I would like to believe that he, along with all of the players are getting development coaching the whole time and the coaches would not put a line through anyone at this stage.

I am still staggered that Jamar was named on the extended interchange instead of Fitzy. Of all teams, we should have an extra tall backman against North, particulaly one that can help Gawn in the ruck.

I'm not, it's a bogus selection. Both Jamar and Fitzy have equal chance of playing.

The only genuine possibility of playing from those ins is Newton IMO.

I'm surprised you even had to ask the question Mono...he's a Dees supporter.

On the other hand, if we lose because Petrie & Brown are too big & strong for T.Mac, Dunn & Garlo, it's a classic selection stuff-up that's totally avoidable.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
