  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Firstly that discussion should be had behind closed doors

Secondly, it takes nothing away from the fact that he’s missed two months of football with a reported regulation hamstring.

Took the words right out of my mouth, just adding fuel to the fire having a heated discussion in front of prying eyes.

Dazz is correct as he almost always is. As iterated somewhere else and as an Ex Phys Eder, I can say.. To allow someone to run 3 days after a  Hammy is LUDICROUS!

As i understand its his first ever hammy also, shocking practice.

1 week should have been complete rest with a 15 mins walk in day 5, then go from there.

This is amazing from our high performance department.

Haven't seen this on the site yet so if it's already been addressed, please delete.

This quote in the story is confusing to me:

'According to 9News Melbourne, the argument between the pair came about after Griffiths asked Oliver to complete sprints at a certain speed, speeds which the premiership star argued he would never reach in a match'

Can someone clarryfy (sorry) what 'he would never reach in a match' means?

As in is he saying he is being asked to run at a speed he can't reach, or is he saying he doesn't run at his absolute full speeds in a match?

Could Imagine Clarry is pretty bloody annoyed that his 2-3 week injury is extending further and further.

Obviously the situation is complicated, and possibly because it seems like Clayton has been historically fortunate with soft tissue injuries. He clearly didn’t realise what had happened, which makes it very difficult for the club staff to initially know what they are dealing with. You can only treat what you know.

It’s obviously not a traditional presentation, and he’s obviously not a traditional athlete.

Its entirely possible that everyone was just doing the best they could, and yet the result still sucks.

You’ve gotta climb a little bit higher before you return to comfortably sleep low.

That’s my high altitude mountain climbing analogy.

Great analogy...was exactly what we did in Nepal...

Clarry might not like it but those jets need testing before use..

He's paid to play footy... The fitness gurus are paid to get them there.  Method in the madness ;)

Several videos and much discussion of this in the 'Injury' thread and in the 'Pregame' thread.

Merge with one of those...

Ah shoot, yeah I didn't think of those threads as I'm dumb.

Hey, you weren't to know it was elsewhere...lots of water under the bridge in those threads today so the videos are a fair way back in the threads.

It was good you put up the article just in case.

But the post you refer to also speculates ....🤔

zero speculation in that post. just a medical professional giving their opinion with clear disclaimers - eg in my view eg for minor hammies the following is expected

this is what we should want on this site. folks with experience sharing it.

There is something very wrong here.

The only thing I can think of is, it has something to do with the infection, as apparently the initial strain was a mild one.

Apparently nobody thinks lying in a hospital bed for 5 days would have his hamstring tighten up. Some mornings I wake up (thankfully) and need to walk around for 20 mins to get everything working. I cannot imagine how I would be after 5 days in bed. When Clayton was put in hospital for 5 days I immediately thought it would add at least 4 weeks to his return as he would have to stop his rehab program and start again.

Maysie says hi.

Oh, and I hope this isn't inappropriate but I'm starting to think you and Dazzle need to get a room.

Not sure about this, scans today should conclusively ascertain the degree of damage (Grade) which then sets the process and precedents of Rehab. We may not see him now for weeks, maybe months!

I don't really care about the optics of the argument between Oliver and the fitness guy. I only care about Oliver getting back ASAP. If he misses too many more I am concerned we're going to slip out of the 8...and this whole era that was nicely building 2 years ago will continue to waste away.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
