Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Essendon

A clear example of a win feeling like a loss. Our handball skills were atrocious. We made Essendon look OK and they are junk.

Weid was great tonight which was a total surprise from me. His Casey game was very ordinary. I am a fan of him and therefore so glad for him.

Brayshaw, Clarry, and Langdon - epic game (except for kicking skills)

We have some players on notice now - TMac, Kozzie, Spargo, Fritsch, and Neal-Bullen were horrendous tonight.

The last 16 Melb Vs Ess games has seen 16 different players poll the maximum 3 votes on Brownlow night C Oliver C Petracca D Shiel M Gawn T McDonald Z Merrett B Stanton L Dunn D Heppell J Watts J McKenzie B Green J Watson M Lloyd S Lucas T Johnstone

Angus was clearly BOG tonight so make it 18.

Oliver was great but the game was gone without Brayshaw

It's strange watching a game like that.  We kept trying to overhandle the ball as if it were a dry day with perfect conditions, fumbled, missed targets and turned it over, yet even when the bombers took the lead it never looked like we were in trouble.  You always knew that they were able to shut that [censored] down and kick away when they needed to .

Bank the 4 and a great deal of regrouping required before Port in 6 days.

Last week likely took it’s toll but there’s adjustments to be made and some players that need a bit of a rocket.

Lever et al. can’t come back soon enough and once Brown returns, TMac is on borrowed time given Weid’s performance. I simply believe he adds nothing for us if he can’t take a mark anymore.

Pickett can’t live off occasional displays of brilliance for much longer either.

Pickett did lay 6 tackles. Not saying he cannot improve, he will come good

Told you all that Weideman was a good selection pre game.

Nah jk I put my hand up. That was like Weideman of the 2018 finals series. More of that thanks.

Tom McDonald on the other hand is depth now. Casey. Whatever it takes.

One game I'd rather forget and move on with the win.

I said to a Melbourne mate of mine, 2 weeks ago.  I love TMac for his perseverance and willingness to change things up, but like all of us he's getting older.  But imagine this, given our current backline woes.  TMac is on the bench, is the swing man, either forward or back - as we need him, but Weid now has to stay.

Great win tonight Dees.  Wasn't pretty, but we won comfortably in the end.  It was not all that long ago, we would have got overrun and lost this one.  Not tonight though.  We are the Demons of old, but also Brand New.

Go Demons!!!!

Well .... Ugly footy but whenever we needed goals we went into the next gear and kicked them.
That's what good sides do.

Still .... I don't need that anxiety against my most hated foe.
Just flogg 'em and get outta there FFS.

Yeah I’m not questioning his defensive efforts, he just needs to get involved more around the fall of the ball.

Some of you are absolutely cooked.

I'm sorry but that was a fantastic game.

Professional. Composed. Never gave in to the Essendon pizazz. They kept nibbling at us all game and we just went to another level each time.

Great teams always win those type of games by 5-7 goals.

Essendon isn't terrible. They'll steal some wins.

That was the type of wins that great teams steal.

Never in doubt.

How many times have we been in Essendon's position? Good but not good enough?

That was a great win.

Change my mind.

Another very professional win. We were challenged throughout most of the game but we've developed an outstanding ability to grind out wins when we're not at our absolute best.

Oliver played one of his usual brilliant games. Brayshaw just keeps getting better every week. He and Langdon have become a killer wing duo. Weideman's earned himself another game. Good on him.

I think this is spot on and can't be understated. I think back to the 3peat hawks. They were always missing key players early and weren't playing their best but just found wins.

The old Melbourne coughs this one up.

This Melbourne believe. No they understand.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
