Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Best performance I’ve ever seen from any AFLW team!   I so much want us to be AFL and AFLW champions, and this is becoming real possibility.  It seems to be coming together at the pointy end of the season for our AFLW team, just as it did for our men in 2021.

Gone tonight were the one metre ‘get me out of trouble’ hand passes.

In tonight we’re precision hand passes to a team mate in better position.

Brilliant!

Well, sometimes when things click, they really click.

105 points in AFLW is about equivalent to 160 points in the traditional game length. The fact that we left at least 5 goals on the park makes it all the more incredible. Complete domination, with a definite asterisk on it, but you can only play the team in front of you. Next week we could be just as diminished.

Loved Colvin's game early when it was there to be won.

Wasn’t that awesome to watch. Stinear has our team playing exhilarating footy a la the boys, highly entertaining. Moving from Fremantle oval to Optus Stadium was a win for us, our skills in windless conditions excelled.  Also Meggs wanted everyone to know that Freo had a few late withdrawals due to Covid as you may not have heard…

Hoping Zanker is ok as we need her on ball and  second ruck work.  It’s either Scotty or Parry and Demonland prefers Shelley over Jacqui.

West and Purcell have allowed Paxy to play wing and it works better.  Our multi-faceted forward line has kicked the highest score on AFLW history. It will be our 2022 finals weapon!

Collingwood to upset Adelaide tomorrow and we finish on top with a potential grand final at Casey…Meggs likes the sound of that.

ps we still need to defeat Carlton next week at Casey Fields.

What a win record breaking stuff. If that doesn't give you confidence nothing will. We are definitely a flag threat now. Adelaide seem to be the only threat if we can stop Phillips and Marinoff we can definitely  win the flag.

That was the most amazing display of women’s football I’ve seen. In fact, it was equal to some men’s games. The ball movement was superb. Accurate passing. A few weeks ago I was critical of the field kicking of a number of players. I now firmly believe the poor grounds and wind at Casey contributes to poor standards. The Dees love Optus Stadium. Well done girls.

The season is shaping beautifully

They were depleted and we took full advantage. A complete, 4 quarter, ruthless performance. A joy to watch

That should be the home prelim sown up now. I can't see us losing against Carlton and I don't think the Lions will make up the percentage given they have a North and the doggies to play. North definitely won't make it up

Top spot and home finals all the way is a real possibility now. I'll be cheering on the pies today v the Crows (and taking a long shower afterwards). If they can at least be competitive and keep the scores close it will reduce the Crows percentage.

Hoping for calm conditions next Saturday evening at Casey and some more accurate kicking

Go Dees

That was the highest standard of AFLW I've seen.  Some of that ball movement in the 3rd was poetry in motion.  The run from behind was elite, and it just got better and better as the confidence grew.  Hopefully that confidence sticks around for the rest of the  season.  Play like that and we will be very, very hard to beat.

How was Gillard omitted?

Thought she was excellent last week.

Young body not up to repeat efforts, didn't fit team structures, or just not able to commit as not full time athletes.

None of that her time will come

Colvin match hardened and stronger although smaller I too was surprised but never fear Tahlia is  tracking very nicely.

North look too far behind on % to dislodge us from top 2.

Lions are the only likely threat but everything would need to go right for them:  two huge wins vs North and Bulldogs plus we lose to Carlton.  North and Bulldogs (if Coll lose today) have a lot to play for so don't see those games as easy wins for the Lions.

It would be nice to for Coll to get over the Crows today.

Overjoyed with our win.

Very impressed with field kicking and the distances our girls were able to kick it.

Feel a bit sorry for Freo.  Hope we don't meet them in the finals - they will be out for revenge and are good enough to extract it.  But if we do it will be at Casey; our fortress!!

The best I’ve ever seen them play. Sustained pressure for the entire match. My girl Eden had thigh issues but geez whenever she gets near the ball it’s “get excited “ time. ❤️💙

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
