Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I am sure for many years some of us were embarrassed to wear our Melbourne Demons gear out in public.

Especially after a bad loss! And if we were on the bottom of the ladder.

Getting taunted by opposition supporters and laughed at. Even facing very rude insults.

Now all that goes away!

We are reigning Premiers for 2021!

We are now literally bulletproof to any nasty comments.

I encourage you all to proudly wear your Melbourne gear or something red annd blue as much as possible!

That way all Melbourne supporters can connect if we bump into eachother in public.

Time to share the joy of winning our first Premiership since 1964!

Remember we are 2021 Premiers!

It still hasn't sunk in yet...but..our club....that's right OUR CLUB the Melbourne Demons are Premiers!!!!

Wear your Melbourne gear with pride!

GO DEMONS!!!!

(Bumped from the 'Flying the flag' thread)

I'm not normally a baseball cap wearer but how validated do I feel atm, quietly proudly sporting this everywhere (in unlockeddownland - sorry...). And I get to do it for two weeks.

At least.

20210912_182604.thumb.jpg.ab0062159718d8855031cb99fe43387e.jpg20210912_182510.thumb.jpg.c07719411e0729d6806b87bb7cae144e.jpg

That was straight after the Prelim (my 'At least' was hopeful but prescient😉) Anyway, to that I have now added this, for my exercise rides around my 'village', from my guess-which-birthday, 'Play-On-The-'G' present.

p.s. Sorry about the in-your-face (in-the-back?) pics. I don't know how to shrink them.

I'm not much one for talking to strangers or striking up random conversation. The one exception has always been fellow Demons fans and certainly for the next six months at least, any red-and-blue wearing person who crosses my path WATCH OUT. You WILL get a "Go Dees" and a chat if you're up for it.

Last Summer I also got a lot of love in my blinding red AFLW members cap, including a hurried "Yeah the girls" from a cyclist whose face I never saw and who probably never heard my "Go Dees" yelled a bit delayed in return!

I live in footscray and have been proudly wearing my Melb jumper every day for three weeks straight.

Badly needs a wash as starting to smell a bit pungent.

On Sunday, I went to my local supermarket, wearing my demons scarf. Out the front there was a guy in a magpie hat. I looked at him and he at me. Then he just looked back at him phone and continued on. For the first time I ever felt a superiority over another supporter. For once, I didn’t feel like there was going to be a put down comment or a smart alec remark or even a rolling if the eyes. I’ve experienced a lot of those in the path. I think this is a feeling you can only get when you win a premiership. I like it.

i have decked out in my gear to just to head to the local Woolies - recently to buy the Herald Sun Premiership poster!

Even had the old scarves out the car window flapping in the wind for all over 900m which is the journey to the store - i usually walk but wanted to understand the feeling of this gf celebratory tradition.

I've always worn my Dees gear with pride. I buy a polo top every year and they are my standard " down the street wear".

I was wearing one the day after 186 and a " lady" laughed at me and called me a "loser"!

I told her to [censored] off !

The scene still sticks in my mind.

I’ve always worn my gear, mainly a couple of shirts and hoodies with the old VFL logo. I never really warmed to our current logo.

My fiancé rocks some of our ALFW gear at times.

I also wear my Dees stuff out in public regardless of where we are on the ladder. In fact, the bigger the thumping the stronger my resolve to show my colours loud and proud. On many occasions I’ve had rude comments thrown my way, but despite being relatively thin-skinned, I let them wash over me like water off the proverbial duck’s back.

I haven’t taken my Dees gear off since our win. I have an extensive collection of merchandise, collected over many years. I plan to wear it as much as I can. I’ve had plenty of “go Dees” as ive passed people in the street. On Sunday, I walked from Kew to Carlton in my Demons jumper. Plenty of toots of the horn. It felt amazing

THAT, right there is as good a feeling as when the final siren went.

Superior to Collingwood. A reason to get out of bed every morning.

My wardrobe has been full of Demons gear for as long as I can remember, and I’ve always worn it with pride …………. and, for the most part, been able to ignore snide comments from non-believers.

But it’s different now!

For the past  50+ years, the pride has mostly been about myself, and sticking with the red and blue during the ‘hard times’.

Now it’s all about the 2021 Demons …… and the new trophy in the cabinet!

Bloody Hell, I’m even walking with a ‘Tracc-like’ swagger, which probably looks odd for someone of my vintage!

But who gives a stuff!

I've been wearing my near 30 year old woollen long sleeve flat out. Wore it every day for 3 weeks before the granny and the reactions have been great. Cars winding down windows on Sydney Road to tell out "Go Dees!" has been happening regularly. Had a few folks stop me in the street for good chats too, I love how it brings people together

hahahahah brilliant!!! I've worn my Dees New Era flaty caps non stop for the last 6 or so years. I felt like a Fitzroy hipster early doors.... Now I can just stare people down with my sweat stained head buckets.

I brought some gear from The Carton Draft website, the Kozzy (off fire) and Tracc (pintracca) socks, the Steven May and Melbros "smokes" tshirts.... haven't taken them off (swapping out to wash).

Some of the older ‘’Landers will remember the Blue Caravan that used to Park outside the Members Entrance before the Rebuild. Right near The Ivor Warne-Smith Door.
this Caravan was full of Demons stuff, not AFL approved.
At the beginning of 1987, The Club returned to wearing the Dark Blue jumper, i was stoked, i never warmed to the light blue. I put up with it.

So when i learnt that we were going back to the original Colours I wanted a scarf.
i got a beauty, about 12 ft long croquered. Red and Dark Blue.
Wrap around the neck twice, never comes off in the wind.
it has been to the ‘87 Prelim ‘87 Western Oval. ‘88 Final Series

Seen Allen Jakovich, The Ox G Lyon kick 10, Jeff Farmer.
Survived Victoria Park and Windy Hill

I still have it and it was so cool to wear it on Saturday Night watching The Demons crush an opponent.
Will be there for the Flag unfurling next year too…

How about this. MFC website has offered suggested graphics for tattoo's.

I preferred to reduce its size and add it as part of my signature on all emails I send, a tattoo sounds too painful.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
