Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Dermott Brereton on Bayley Fritsch

But that was Dermies point. “The kid can seriously play” he said multiple times and said if he does another thing the MRP might go take a week more due to the other incidents all adding up. Not that I agree but I would never put it past the MRP. And yeah, we would really miss him if suspended.

I can't believe there isn't more indignation over this t**d's blatant hatred of all things MFC.    Surely someone is in a position to call out the bias and hypocrisy?   He is continually launching campaigns like this in the lead-up to finals as he grapples with the alarming possibility we might be a chance.  The other week he launched the throw campaign specifically targeting Clayton Oliver.   I am hoping there are Demonlanders out there with sufficient influence to get a counter campaign launched that shines a light on this punce's agenda.

haha give me a spell, the biggest thug to play the game in the last 40 years having a crack because Fritsch gave Grainger-Barass a slight bump in a marking contest? Perhaps next time he should step on someone's head instead or send their teeth into the 5th row like Brereton did to Tony Free?

Brereton spills so much drivel he even contradicted himself on the same radio spot.

Loves how Richmond committed 8 "snide" acts and how Soldo's ear massage of the opponent reminded him of Clumsy Mumford.

Nasty acts where close to his heart he says in the below article.

His hatred of the MFC is just plain unprofessional and blindingly obvious. He's always making subtle or obvious digs at the Dees.

An example being that the day after our finest win of the season against the Dogs at their joint, Huddo and King were rightly raving about our win on the Fox Footy Saturday midday show. Meanwhile this bloke who has a clear hatred of the MFC had the temerity to claim that the Bulldogs were pretty much the better side on the night aside from conceding a few goals in the first quarter. He labelled the 9-1 Bulldogs performance as 'brave' and that the MFC pretty much stopped to a halt after qtr time despite extending the lead to 41 points in the last quarter.

It might be time for him to be replaced with some fresh/younger analysts.

"People look for things to talk about and clearly this is a thing that people have wanted to talk about, but it's not an issue from my perspective.

"Bayley's the cleanest, fairest player that I've come across and he'll continue to be that way.

"It's his nature, that's the way he plays his footy."

It's funny because Derm used to straight up belt people in the head when he played, and now he's the patron saint of fair play?

The irony is simply too much. The bloke is an absolute moron.

Someone should ask him if, by extension, that means he was a "faux tough guy" in his days as well ...

I'm bloody delighted that Goody came straight out and backed up Fritta.

No achievement in life is achieved without solidarity, and our club has been much improved on this front.

As Fritsch is one of the um... 'less physical' players on our list, surely Dermie would be loving the idea of him throwing elbows.

Derm is always whinging about people doing perceived filthy things now. He's like an ex-criminal who finds god and tries to lecture all the current crims on what they're doing wrong.

Make no mistake.
Fritta's sneaky mean.
The forearm wasn't an accident and neither was the essendon fella into the goal post.
I particularly enjoyed that one and watching him slink away like nothing happened.

Gotta agree with you fork, I too have seen that harder side in fritta and I reckons he’s copped more than his share and looks for some payback.

Dermie was the real deal. Courageous, tough and a predator. he hunted down a few of our players. I remember him taking out Dean Chiron one day, himself a pretty tough player. This reminds me of the ex player who did a story on a footy hitman operating in the VFL. That player was exposed quite rightly as the thug, Roger Merret. Dermie is doing his job and sinking the boots into the MCC mob he despises at the same time.  Funny part is the modern Hawks are a leafy wealthy Eastern suburbs lot these days and dermie long sincee left the Pines.

I remember that as well.
Demons had been travelling well and of course it happened to be Breretons 1st game back from a 6week suspension at VFL park.
Before the bounce he was running like a peacock right around the forward line attracting the eyes of every-one in attendance.
Got back to the goal square and took off straight up the middle of the ground.
Hit the half forward line at top pace just as the umpire bounced the ball and took out Plattens tagger Chiron in the centre circle sparking a brawl.
Theatre of the like you don't see from the game anymore.
Grinter and co spent the 1st qr trying to even up gifting Brereton a couple frees from high shots which resulted in goals.
Dunstall also cut loose and the game was pretty much over by the end of the qr.
Was the earliest I've ever left a game which was not long after half time.

Well described. Chiron had been in career best form and Dermie destoyed his career that game. I can remember the hit as well. Execution IRA style. gees we could not take a trick with the Hawks. I remember walking back to my car after 77 Preliminary. I dont get involved with opposition supporters much but I did say to a gloating Hawk women on my way back to the car. We will get revenge. She laughed at me, and is still laughing 44 years later. No wonder we get emotional on here some times.

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
