"WE PUT six burning questions to premiership coach Mick Malthouse about the recent on-field and off-field issues that have slowed Melbourne’s run at the finals"

Slowed our run at the finals lol, we lost 1 game after 3 six day breaks and injuries to some of our best players, on field and off field issues has nothing to do with it

We have been hit harder than any club for injuries and schedule in the past month yet people have jumped off us like we were the 2016 Dockers!

Ffs, no club can lose 6 of their top 10 and be expected to win games. This off field nonsense is all media hype! It doesn't really exist.

i pretty much agree with everything that he said, and tbh honest it sounds remarkably similar to goodwin:

Finals football — outside of talent — will be won by the team that has focus, concentration and discipline for a full match.

This is not a competition in which you can pick and choose.

Mick would trade Hogan, Trac, Jones, Clary and Viney for picks 75 through to 80.

As certain as day follows night.

Listening to Mick on radio now days, I feel his decline has been rapid. Some blokes can go on coaching for a long time but age catches up with all of us.

In Micks case, while still young in life terms the game really passed him by quickly.

Is is actually a decent article, I must admit I wasn't expecting much but it was pretty good.

Win today, we go fourth and the footy world love us again, lose today we go 9th and cop a barrage.

Good teams beat weaker teams even with injuries like we have. Are we good enough to concentrate for four quarters...

It's a decent article and is probably reasonably accurate.

Whenever I see the name Mick Malthouse though, I always think 'thanks for Jeffy' - he's simply the best present this club has had in a very long time.

It's funny how quickly the medias view on teams can change. After the Egales game we were flag favourets, the next week after one weekend of a lost, suspension and drinking ban we are off the rails.

Mick for all his faults is still an astute football judge.

I like listening to his expert comments on radio, he speaks his mind and has some good observations.

I think the TV guys speak their ratings and it's why Mick hasn't got a telly gig. Wouldn't lower himself to that level.

Not a Malthouse fan, but he is right on the money here with every comment. 3 Time premiership coach and it shows with these insights!
