The opposition is beatable. Beating the clubs inner demons is a bigger challenge.

Good luck to hogan today, he deserves a win and I hope the club delivers it for him. I do think on paper we look stronger this week and great to see Bernie starting in the middle. Expecting another big game from lewis. Wouldn't say - especially in this week of upsets (Kangas - wtf??) am rock solid confident but still believe we can and will win.

Cold and wet slog at the G coming up....should suit our inside mids as long as we don't mess around with the ball too much

A spot in the eight, staying in touch with the top 4, and the prospect of beating the old side of one of our most important leaders (the Hawks no less): all these things are on the line today. There is so much to play for this afternoon that my MFCSS is working overtime and it's not even 9:30am yet…

Third game in 13 days - test will be if the fitness staff have managed to freshen squad or will there be a flat spot.

Cant wait to hear the bells tolling and the Dees running out looking pumped and ready to raise hell. Go Dees.

If you played each Sunday you would have 3 games in 14 days so I don't think we have much to worry about on that score

Won't be able to watch as I have just moved and my internet isn't up and firing yet. I am writing this from my smartphone.

McEvoy is more of a daunting prospect in the ruck than Bellchambers, so hopefully the Bear can put two good performances together in a row.

We should win by 4 goals but the players should be taking nothing for granted.

Was away last year so did not hear the bells until the Freo game.

Very good sound... liked the drum lead up could be louder

All I want from today is a four quarter effort.

All I want from today is four points ........ and that's exactly what a four quarter effort will deliver.

In 2017 we haven't really been outplayed yet in my opinion, we have either won or dominated so much and missed opportunities that we have run out of legs.

I think our ladder position isn't a reflection of how good our best is, but a reflection of how young our side is.

I think we will beat the hawks easily, because we should smash them in the contest and be to quick on the outside.

This game has me seriously nervous... They are due to put in a reasonable performance & unfortunately a lot of sides have a bit of a mental edge on us knowing we can be mentally fragile.. They'll be up for the fight from the start, this isn't going to be a walk in the park like the saints had last week against them. This is HUGE test to see where this football club is at, Melbourne of old would drop this game... We lose this & finals is a long road.

Ahhh, 10am Gameday.

Confident, nervous, reading everything, anxious, ready, not ready, sensing a win, sensing a draw, sensing a flogging, posting on Demonland, groaning at other Demonlander's posts, too much coffee already, already thinking about my first Shiraz, cider or Dalmore 18yo scotch.... , what time is it x 100, constantly checking the pathetic AFL app for updates.

Love/hate Gameday.

Yeah. I want to thrash them. Over 100pts would be great.

A win will suffice.

Careful Maldon, don't want to get Uncle Bitter up and about too early

Hey Col, the game is also on Ch 7.

Hopefully it rains today which will bring McEvoy down to size, so to speak.  We match up fairly well in terms of height with the rest of their team.  Contested ball is their weakness and the rain will tire their ageing legs more than ours.  So lots of advantages for us.

And, yep the team has a lot to play for and if they bring enough hunger they will get the job done.

Hopefully it is not wet there today. We muck around with the ball too much.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
