Happy for marketing to go crazy when promoting MFC membership, events, news etc and use players names to draw attention.

But feel sorry for Jonesy having to put his name up for direct marketing promo text messages like the one I got re a MFC sponsor yesterday (won't mention their name). Feels like I am being mislead things its about pure MFC stuff

Don't mind his picture being used above the line on TV, bill boards, magazines etc but not in direct marketing to my personal mobile.

Not a big issues but prefer it didn't happen.

The content wasn't the issue. Just offering to give a MFC jumper if you switch to the sponsors product

Interested to know if you think the club are doing ANYTHING right?  Have a look at your posting history, you have;

- Given a whack to the club for using Jones as part of marketing

- Given Goodwin a huge whack for not playing Trengove (or just taking him to Perth with no intention of playing him), for the way he introduced the co-captaincy, the way the Watts situation was handled, and for playing Spencer in the JLT (FMD).

- Implied that the McCartney article had a hidden agenda of him putting his name out there for potential senior jobs that will no doubt rise this year

- Think that the club is disrespecting the club by not telling us the full extent of Hibberd's injury

All of that just in the past hour.

Cheer up champ.  The season is about to begin, and with any luck, it's going to be longer than normal for us.

Feeling sorry for Jonesy??   Supporting sponsors' products comes with the territory of being a club captain, I would have thought.

What a strange thread. Captain endorsing Sponsors products

We actually need more sponsors, not less...

Not sure it is always wise to endorse Sponsors SWYL.

I remember one a little while back that was less than wonderful.

In fact it was a sham.

Jones didn't exactly send the text himself. Doubt he even cares about what the product is.

The club are very judicious with their marketing and promotion and rarely send direct texts.

If I got 1 a week I'd be a bit annoyed but happy to get one every now and then.

Could be worse, they could ask you to marry a Thai Bride like Demonland.com keeps telling me to do.

I could come at that prospect Ethan. They did briefly put a picture of some strange looking guy with a porn star moustache offering a similar type of deal. I'm broad minded, but I won't go there. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Steer clear of Natasha and Svetlana, but those Thais and Vietnamese are smoking hot.

It's akin to appearing in printed or broadcast advertising. What's the problem? If you appear in an ad, you endorse the product. Why would he be embarrassed?

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
