Is Howe named in the side? Collingwood's best 2 backs sum up how far we have come.

Having spoke to Dunn a few times last year when he was at Casey, I really hope he does well with the Pies and makes a name for himself again as a leading key defender

Was never a big fans of Dunns but he's handled the club swap with dignity.

4 disposals to half time. Haven't noticed him much and Jeremy Howe is one of the laziest players going around!

Enjoy bucks.

I actually hope Dunn does well, his departing message last year showed nothing but class.

What really annoys me is when commentators mention Howe's switch to defense last year as some sort of masterstroke on Buckley or Collingwood's behalf. Did these guys watch any footy at all in 2015? Huddo, one of the better ones, even mentioned it tonight.

Good luck to him. In an ideal world I would've kept him but I understand why they moved him on given they were stuck with Garland as depth and had Frost and Oscar.

He looks fitter and should bounce back to pretty solid form and his kicking will help the Pies.

I'll miss his ability to win some decent one on ones and kick a long goal or long switching kick but I'll appreciate Frost's athleticism and Oscar's work rate and height. When you've got 3 imperfect options it's not unreasonable to back in the younger two.

"Lynden Dunn quickly bringing the ball in from full-back kicks straight to McDonald-Tipungwuti, who converts from 20m out. Terrible error.

Dons 88, Pies 92"

And that's what I won't miss.  The regular brain fades that had one of my mates calling him "Lynden Dumb".

No match winner and has limitations but experience counts and Dunny has that in spades and never says die. One of the few players who was able to stand up in the ugly years of Demon horribilis and hold his head up.

A dour stay at home defender that can neutralise a sluggish but strong bodied opponent and occasionally drift forward for the odd goal or two with the occasional brain fade (see above).

Didnt mind Dunny against the right match up and in a balanced team with quick counter attack runners around him. Certainly a better option than Garland who was unable to do either of these roles/tasks very well under any amount of heat. One of them is still with us so go figure.

I saw this on Facebook and thought it was worth sharing here because it shows exactly where Lynden Dunn's heart is -

"These are the moments I will miss! Looking my mates directly in the eyes  after a hard fought win and belting out "It's a Grand Old flag!"

I know in my heart of hearts that I leave the Dee's giving every moment, everything I possibly had. I consider myself blessed to have spent 12 great years at this Football club and no matter where I go or what I do, my veins will always bleed red and blue. Only at the moment there is some black and white in them as well. I have played with some of the all time greats of the MFC  and met some incredible people along the way. I would like to thank the fans for their support, especially through some very grim years. There is definitely light at the end of the tunnel and fingers crossed finals are not far away.

To all my teammates who I have ever played with ... you are the reason I play football and the reason I love the club so much! You have meant everything to me and I wish the current players all the best in their pursuit for greatness!

Finally, thank you @melbournefc for helping me live my childhood dream of playing League Footy. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity you gave me as a 17 year old straight out of high school.

Bring on the Queens Birthday Clash in 2017 - Dunny"

When the club gives away jumper # 14 I hope it will be to a very special person.

Well played Dunny!

Heart on his sleeve guy. I always liked Dunn.

Hope he does well at the Pies.

That said, I would have liked to see him finish his career at the Dees. A quality clubman.

Is your mate knee deep in a slab of Carlton on his third Dominos pizza each time he cleverly yells that at the plasma screen from his bean bag in the corner of the living room?

Is your mate Dave Hughes by any chance?

That rank turnover was an absolute shocker...why backman chip short to a player who is not completely in the clear is beyond me

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
