Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Changes v Richmond

With the senior side winning well AND Casey winning in fine fashion, it leaves us with a selection conundrum.

Vince is an automatic inclusion, while we have to wait and see if Garlett is fit.

Does Petracca get a run?  Bit harsh to, potentially, make 3 changes to a winning side.  Oliver was quiet and, while he acquitted himself well, Hunt might miss out as well.

It's going to be an interesting week at the selection table.

I don't know who is in or out, but I do think Lumumba and Tyson hold onto the footy that half a second too long.

At some stage I would like to see one of them get a rest, even if it isn't VFL, it messes with our flow.

I would drop Brayshaw back to the VFL purely for fitness reasons, still looks unfit, and could do with a full game on the ball.

Likely INS for me would be: ANB, Vince, Garlett.

OUT: Tyson, Lumumba or Frost/Brayshaw. Petracca will need another few weeks in the VFL, as will Trengove.

I'd probably give Oliver a rest next week, he wasn't covering the ground quite as well as he had been.

and i really think we have one to many talls and Frost might go out for Garlett

Out: Oliver, Frost

In:  Vince, Garlett

Frost out?!? He was getting picked when he was getting 5 kicks a game, there's no way they'll drop him when he has 19, a goal and a couple of assists.

I think it will be:

In. Vince, Garlett

Out. Oliver (rested), M. Jones

Matt Jones hasn't done much wrong, so consider him unlucky.

I reckon Matt Jones and Bugg will make way for classier players although the Jones boy was busy again today.

Garlett (if fit) and Vince are certainties to return ....... but no idea who the outs might be!  Our Footy Dept got it spot-on this week, despite the widespread criticism / incredulity around this place.  Very happy to leave it to them again ....... they are far smarter than me!

Tommy Bugg smashed their mids, went in hard as [censored] and made the Pies playrs [censored] themselves

Not only will he not get dropped but he deserves a statue out the front of the G' for the demolition job he did on the Filth today

Tommy rocks

Rest Oliver, show Tracc what the new guy can do and make him realise he needs to earn it, not just show potential.

Bugg is a real tough one. Knows how to get it and is tough but at times today really lacked the disposal class. Cost us the first goal then made a few mistakes immediately after. Just doesn't seem to have quick hands.

Frost is another tough call based on today. Didn't complete marks he should have and made mistakes.

Tyson got the 1 vote from MMM today so some rated him very highly.

Hunt was alright after a rough start. Hate to give him only one game but to some degree we haven't had similar selection pressure for a while.

Lumumba was huge in the first quarter and was a prime mover in our heavy scoring.

Going to be some unlucky players...

Not sure why anyone would bring up Tyson or Lumumba's name when it comes to changes.

This week against the Tiges is just as important as today's game. Vince in for Hunt (unlucky), and if Garlett is fit, he comes in for either Oliver (rested) or M. Jones (unlucky).

Whoever mentions Lumumba as an out should be banned from here. This run and carry game style is suiting H and now starting to get back to his best football he played at the pies.

He is not the only one who makes mistakes but he is so vital in getting the ball moving forward as quickly as possible.

Vince and Garlett make the team even better than it was today so they come straight back in.

Rest Oliver. And unfortunately I reckon Hunt misses out.  A bit tough on him but he was a fill in for this game.

But I would not like to be the selectors this week - some tough decisions to make.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
