You say that like it is a fact. How did that loss set us back that much?

Im just throwing a figure out there but no doubt it set us back... every crushing defeat is another kick in the guts for the club and playing group.

The GWS was one of the worst... as I recall they were down to zero fit men on the bench by the 4th quarter, and still beat us by over 10 goals.

Remember everyone saying the game at the G' vs GWS at the end of last season was meaningless.. yeah right, we got flogged and it set us back 12 months

What in the name of god are you talking about you lunatic? Please explain to us how losing that particular match 'set us back 12 months' ?

Don't want to sound negative BUT I think a loss this weekend against Carlton would be the breaking point for some, players and fans included.

This is a must win game for our direction as a club. We rarely perform against clubs we are expected to win.

A loss this weekend would be the biggest loss in our history.

Lets hope we win!

You're doing a good job of disguising it

The ramifications of a loss this weekend to Carlton.....zero.

The ramifications of the loss to GWS last year.....zero.

The ramifications will be: the MFCSS defeatists paying out on players, Roos and the like on Demonland post match until the next match.

A loss this weekend would be the biggest loss in our history

You cannott be serious.

I'm impressed by your ability to quantify things. It wasn't good, it was a setback - but 12 months?

Yeah, why stop at 12?

HH being unusually restrained.

Surely we won't lose this weekend? For the love of god they must win...

There's only so many floggings a supporter can suffer (unless they are BBO)

What are you being so rude for mr arrogant? To back up HH if you get absolutely flogged in the last game of the season or the last half of the season..you go into the pre season flat, compared to winning some late games and going into the next season with some momentum...that loss against GWS really hurt the club....

No different to other games this season we have meant to or should have won but lost.

Life goes on and as a Melb supporter we expect it to happen which is pathetic but normal for us.

We r a special breed us demons supporters.

Ramification are never positive for some. Some will say that if we win vs Carlton it will be because they are tanking, if we win vs Freo it's because they are resting and if we beat GWS it will be because they have given up on finals (assuming they are out by then). I'll be happy with 1 win, very happy with 2 and delirious with 3.

If we lose it would stop me taking the [censored] out of my Carlton supporting friends and acquaintances for following a team of tankers

I'd take 9 wins for the season!

We are simply a better side than Carlton on comparative form and ladder position hence the prohibitive bookies' odds . That will get us to the 7 wins tipped by many of us.... and then it's "that's all folks".

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
