He's only 10 games into his career, but Gus could very well be the best first round pick we've drafted in years. Definitely deserved the nod this week. I already feel confident whenever he has the ball in hand.

EDIT: Just reached the personal milestone of 1000 posts. Cheers to all who put in the hard work that makes this website possible. Go Dees!

I said at the game today that I'm more comfortable when Brayshaw has it in his hands than any other player on our list. Even when he missed his second shot at goal he took an intercept mark which I think resulted in kick and goal to Fitzy.

He's a garn! Reminds me of Travis Boak.

Very confident he'll be a long term contributor to the MFC. Well done Gus!

Yeah I really liked this. Missed the shot but then gut run to make sure he impacted the next contest. With Brayshaw, Viney, Tyson, Petracca and Vandenberg plus cameos from Salem, Toumpas, Garlett I am very comfortable with where our midfield is headed. Obviously helped by Jones, Vince and Cross.

How good is it watching a decent number 10 running around. Ive been more impressed with angus in his first what 10 games than I have been with some players who we have had on our list for a few years.

I just love his tackling and ball use. Hope he is a 200+ gamer with us

Roos wanted gus a long way out from the draft

He just looks a goer, doesn't seem to be any lack of confidence and backs himself every time. Even when he missed his goal he straight away took the contested mark to win the ball back and set up a goal for another player.

Those two goals he set up for Garlett were just poetry in motion.

Congrats Gus!

Gus is a gun, plays like an angry Cotchin.

Hope Roos gives him some time forward like Cotchin gets to rest him and let him snag a few

Agree with that comparison in terms of the way he moves and attacks, but he's a far better user of the football than Cotchin.

Awesome. Kid is a freaking gun... attacks the contest like Joel Selwood, moves like Pendlebury, tackles like Byron Pickett , kicks like Travis Johnstone, and sees the game like Fyfe

lol calm it down.

Yep, took the words out of my mouth, I love him with the ball in hands and feel comfortable when he is around the ball. Makes good decisions, attacks the ball, tackles hard, kicks beautifully to position. Imagine what he's going to be like with a few games under the belt.

Must get the rising star this week...

Its funny you mention His kicking. While i agree its a big positive in one of his draft videos his kicking seemed pretty poor at times.

He looks so calm and composed.

As soon as he was drafted, I predicted that this kid would Captain the club and that he would be our first 600 gamer.

Now that I've actually seen him play, I feel I was quite conservative in my initial assessment.

In short, he's just got it.

Those two kicks to set up Garlett were perfection... he is something to get very excited about.

I agree he was the excitement for me today.

The kid has played nine games and already looks better than about eight others I could mention today.

A small Ray of hope for our future.

The recruiters got this one correct.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
