One can never ever have enough back up mids. To any who said pre-draft why get more - here is one answer.

Stress fractures in the feet ate troublesome...

Garland had them and overcame them IIRC.

Shame but it should hopefully only effect his 2013 and not his career, and it won't negatively impact his speed either.

Posted

Will slow down his pace even more.

(Sigh)

don't worry about JT, WYL.. he's the right stuff & he's full of it.

remember Jonsey all those commenting on him, & worrying about is he good enough, is he quick enough, can he kick, etc.

He's a player & so is Jack. high quality.

Hopefully it's not too serious, as stress fractures in the foot can be troublesome to overcome properly. We need Trengove to be fit and firing, as he is a captain, but more importantly one of the few midfielders on our list with potential to be an A-grader.

Posted

It's not ideal but It's also not the end of the world. Just over 3.5 months until round 1 so 6 weeks In a moon boot leaves him with enough time to get some decent training behind him.

Posted

Damn. Managed properly, it should hopefully be no more than a minor setback. Will interrupt his preseason, but he's a determined young man who will do whatever it takes to recover properly.

Posted

If managed properly it should not be too much of a problem. I had one at the age of 48 whilst in the middle of training for the 2000 Sydney marathon. I still managed to complete the marathon eight weeks after diagnosis. I still argue that it robbed me of the opportunity to set a new world record. I had to be content with 4 hours, 55 minutes, but I'm still running twelve years later with no further problems.

Not great news but could have happened at a worse time I suppose. Best of luck JT I know your made of strong stuff

The rest may fix up the OP that we have all diagnosed here .

Anyway-he will ave time to do some puzzles .

Why is it that I don't feel any great loss at this news.

I am surprised by my reaction.

Perhaps it is due to my suspicion that JT is an average player not the champion I hoped for.

Am I alone ?

We ran him into the ground. Nice work fitness guys.

There's nothing to show that he wouldn't have suffered this injury under a different training regime and anyway, when they are working this hard there are bound to be some setbacks. It's all for the long run.

Or in this case a very short run!

Yes, most of us don't like wearing the hair shirt, but if you feel the need to go for it, I have a crown of thorns going free as well

As Satyricon said, yes. You should be feeling a big loss just for the fact he is one of our captains. His presence will be missed out on the field for the next 6 weeks, that's for sure.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
