As Satyricon said, yes. You should be feeling a big loss just for the fact he is one of our captains. His presence will be missed out on the field for the next 6 weeks, that's for sure.

During 2012 his contribution was average IMO ( he was of course not alone )

I'm not saying you should love him as a player, what I said was you should be at least a little disappointed that one of our captains has a potentially serious injury. Only talking about him as a captain, not a player.

I will not be unhappy if he is Deemand.

But right now he has a long way to go to prove that statement.

I'm not saying you should love him as a player, what I said was you should be at least a little disappointed that one of our captains has a potentially serious injury. Only talking about him as a captain, not a player.

Appreciate your position I just don't feel a great sense of loss as I would if it was Grimes.

With the new regime we have picked it up early, and exactly what has been wrong with this progress in the last couple of years......what he is not a superstar and dominating games, give him a chance, as another poster said he is still only 21...got at least another 10 years

If you want to compare let's compare with say Murphy at Carlton, a nr 1 pick yet it is only in the last year or two that he is starting to show how good he really is.

Think you're drawing a long bow there ... I don't know too many (anyone?) who would ever have put Bennell and Cook (and Petterd for that matter) on the same level as Trengove.

Also, it depends on where the fracture in the foot is. If it's the 5th metatarsal, or navicular bone it's cause for concern, but if not it's less of an issue from a 'time out' point of view.

Fletch, how is Trengove off the pace, have you been to training and seen which group he runs with, it is the group containing MCDonald and Nicholson that everybody is now drooling over, the lack of pace was a myth started by a couple of the continual naysayers on this board (similar to the fact that Joel Mac can't hit a target, again try going to training and watch)

As for your comment that Murphy is a bad example and is now in the top 5 mids really, we'll go on Brownlow votes...he got 11,

Watson got 30, Swann 25, Ablett 24 Thompson and Dangerfield 25 and 23 respectively, Mitchell 26, Cotchin 26, Kennedy 19 I could keep going but top 5 no, maybe this year?

Trengove is developing nicely, unless of course you want a comet or bright light but disappears as quickly as it appears

Trengoves first 2 seasons were really good, but this year im sure he would like to forget, he looked slow and indecisive, but the kids got one thing that alot of people struggle with, and thats loyalty, so im backing him in to tear it apart in the future, the guys in a moon boot for 6 weeks and hopefully ready for round 1.

So I am the only one reaching, thought I might be, seems the Footy Dept was happy with Trengove's season, Mark Neeld said so,

Actually, I think not... according to what I read, they were saying that the fact they found the beginnings of a stress fracture in its very early stages, is why they are confident he should be available for round one 2013. This probably had little or no bearing at all on his relatively lacklustre season 2012.
