Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I have had reservations about Dom Tyson, but since his return he has been very effective. Even to say he is part of our midfield for finalS.

If I had to make a choice I would bring Viney in for Spargo/Kent ( and only if he is fit !!!!). I feel for Spargo, but Viney is C0 Captain. However I feel our midfield setup is going extremely well with Gawn, Clarrie & Gus. As such I would play Viney as a small fwd and pinch hit in the middle if we are getting slaughtered.

Hannan and Kent both have plenty of pace. They just aren't very good natural crumbers. We've just got to keep getting them in the right positions.

T Mc and ANB can beat their opponents with run. And Melksham on a tall or slower defender has a good combination of pace/endurance, as does Spargo and Vanders.

We had a number of excellent forward entries to Melksham and Hannan today and some good leading from all the guys. The long kicks to Tommy Mc and Weids were bought to ground but not crumbed. If Kent and Hannan in particular can find a bit of chemistry with the talls as soon as possible that would be great. Doubt it will happen but we can hope.

I'm not worried about crumbers. I care about the fast break Orange Tsunami that GWS is capable of.

What's the odds they look at OMac cause darling got concussed, I thought he couldn't have tackled any better but they've gone on the outcome in other cases

I think Oscar is safe as it wasn’t a ‘driving’ tackle.  If anything, he rolled Darling slightly to the side to avoid driving him to the dirt.

Garlett for Spargo. Just back Garlett in.

I daresay you have seen the last of Garlett in a Melbourne jumper if you saw his game at Casey yesterday. No fwd pressure , no interest. The opposite of what we saw today from Hannan, Spargo and even Kent in the second half.

Jeff is done.

no change, except if someone is injured or suspended. we need to keep a consistent team. Garlett has done nothing in the seniors and was dropped where he continued to show little interest, no way he should be coming back in. we need players who will, run, chase and tackle that is not jeffy.

Darling wasn't concussed. Even the usually dull West Coast supporters have noted Darling, feigning concussion, caused the West Coasts doctors to take the cautious approach and prevent him returning to the game. They rightly said he was milking it for a free, which Was what I thought at the time. It was virtually the perfect tackle. There will be no action taken against McDonald.

We'd be incredibly stupid to rest players who are otherwise fit. We need every chance we can get to improve our MCG game if we want to be successful in finals, and it's possible our first final will be at the G whether we win or lose (it could be that a win gives us Geelong but a loss gives us Hawthorn, for example).

The confidence we would get from improving our top 8 record going into our first final in 12 years would be enormous.

Hibberd might have tweaked a hamstring but other than that, and assuming no other injuries, I'd give this 22 the chance to build more momentum next week.

I do not understand anyone suggesting Weideman isn't a lock for next week. He gave us everything we needed (other than his shanked set shot). He showed strong leading up at the ball and some great marking, he got well involved in play up the field, and he wasn't terrible in the ruck. I was really happy with him.

In saying all of this, Kent only played one quarter, ANB played another poor game, Spargo is struggling (he's lucky Garlett and Bugg are no better) and VDB doesn't look fit enough to run out full games. I'm happy to back all four in (especially ANB given his form over the year) but we'd want to see some improvement from some.

dropped twice,,, back for what, one game, before dropped again ?

finished... apparently doesn't have the trust of the selection committee.

I can understand that.  We aren't a welfare club.   We're trying to get up off the floor.

IF he doesn't want to help us do that, then there's the door.   I think he's had his chances, and burnt them.

That's the only change I see 'titan'...get him right for the first final.

No change.

There’s no way OMac gets rubbed out, it was a textbook tackle. Darling’s head didn’t even hit the ground, or at least didn’t appear to. The fact that such an innocuous tackle seems to have knocked him out is more of a worry for Darling than anything.

Darling played for the push in the back free kick by basically flopping forward but OMac twisted him in the tackle.  It would be an absolute travesty if anything happened at all.

So he'll probably get several weeks.

Talk of resting players is crazy.....  a win here will mean a final vs Geelong at the MCG, a loss will possibly mean playing GWS again up in Sydney with the confidence they will take out of just having rolled us 12 or so days earlier and with Toby Greene and others coming back.

We must hit this game at full steam.  The season aint over yet!

Tyson gets absolutely no respect. I was a former Tyson hater too but he's very handy.

No change. If anyone goes out it could be Weidemann for Garlett or someone else with some pace. You need heaps of it on the G, and you need even more against GWS.

It's not that I'm a Tyson basher...

Its just to make way for a fit viney its Tyson that would go.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
