Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

From what is known Moore was ready to walk at the end of last year with blessings, and this could still happen . The pies have realised the fragility of their backline with the misfortune to Dunne. This could quickly transfer into a forward line which could end up as a key position player at Six foot two there. Cox will be required there in the middle, just as Preuss is required here They are riding high at the moment but things could change fast when people apply physical pressure in the middle and everywhere else.

So do we want him Mr Leg?

Well if you think a forward line with Tom Mc and no other key forward is ok then we don’t.

Just btw Tom has been terrible so far and hopefully turns it around from tonight.

Goody shouldn't have listened to the media hype about Weid after the first 2 finals - he's no where near Hogan. Should have risked not trading Hogan and hoped he would have changed his mind and not lose him as a FA.

bit late for that.Perhaps the"he is already better than Hogan"  fraternity have had a reality check.Mays performance tonight amplifies why it was such a pathetic trade .

You think Hogan wanted to wait around for effective ball use inside our 50? This club has been bombing the ball inside forward 50 since Jamar/Moloney, and nothing appears to be changing in a hurry. I'd have Jones no where near the ball drop, Brayshaw and Oliver are not much better (unless they were to handball to a receiver).. There isn't a real effective plan out of the middle. It would be a long term option, but something I would consider exploring would be to have Salem rotating with Fritsch in the midfield, and have them play as a link man - on the receiving end of a handball from Oliver or Brayshaw. The aim of the game is to kick goals, the best way to do that is to move the ball out of the middle and cleanly into our forward line - giving our forwards the best opportunity to kick goals. Our club has the greatest capacity to do this. But instead we play a sloppy country football reserves style of play - with absolutely no organisation.

Where is his desire.  Poor tonight.  Shocking actually

Nothing new there he’s no Wayne Carey or Dermott Brereton that’s for sure

He has a very very long way to go Personally I don’t feel like he has the mongrel to get there

Jesse Hogan doesn't have mongrel but he will be a bloody good forward for many years to come.

I genuinely believe Weideman has the potential to emulate the same way Josh Kennedy career has. I love the way Kennedy goes about his business. He's not the mongrel forward like a Carey or Brereton, but it doesn't stop him crashing into packs and using his solid frame to his advantage. Something Weideman will start to realise once he fills out.

The old “he has a neat haircut so he mustn’t be tough enough” argument.

I wonder if anyone under the age of 40 still thinks “mongrel” is a key ingredient for a football player.

Actually not commenting on his haircut more an observation about the level of intent and desire that permeates the entire football club including I suspect #26

There appear to be a lot of cruisers at the MFC who seem to get very comfortable with their position and output very quickly and don’t seem ever capable of consistent performances

After a long off season where everyone including the players , coaches , media , supporters talk them up it’s not surprising that people now once again question the mental strength of this group - they are the only one ms to bring this doubt on and the only ones that can remove it - lets see if they respond next week - I doubt it

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
