Welcome to Demonland: James Jordon

Another good game from JJ last night, to backup from his debut in R1. Helps add to our midfield depth and is productive when playing in the seniors (love the 1%’s he bases his game off).

Harmes will indeed need to find form to get back into the team when his wrist is ready (definitely no bad thing).

Love that he sits back a bit from the contest and racks up the uncontested, something all our see-ball-get-ball power mids struggle with and coupled with his defensive efforts adds a sweet POD we've been searching for. Super excited for the future after seeing the midfield group click last night.

Been great - and sticks his tackles, which I think has been a midfield weakness for us.

Tom Sparrow also should be getting some love. I didn’t notice him as much as Jordan on the first watch of the game last night, but watching the replay he seemed to get a lot of quick short handballs from congested play to guys on the outside that set us off and running.

I didn’t think there was a role for him with all our inside mids, but with Gus playing wing, and Harmes injured, this allowed Clarry and Trac to run from congestion rather than get caught up in chains of 1 meter handballs.

JJ was really good again he is hard at and continually hits targets, I thought that all our kids contributed well last night and our bottom 6 contributed way more than theirs, shame we kicked so woefully could have been a percentage booster, but a win is a win. Well done James Jordon.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Watching the replay, noticed the kid’s composure. With great awareness he has the ability to hold the ball a fraction of a second longer, drawing a player in and freeing up a teammate.
Many of our senior players don’t have that attribute.
Spreads well and positions himself in dangerous spots. Keep it up young fella!

i must admit i was a bit worried Jordon might be too slow at AFL level, but with his footy smarts i don't think it matters much. he's quick to sum up the situation and position himself to be in the right spot, either offensively or defensively, and works hard without dropping off. he also has clean skills but i think i've been most impressed by his tackling pressure. he seems to have the knack of not being sold the dummy and closes on them quicker than they think.

Jordon was prolific but made a few errors in the first quarter which were unlucky/costly. He was then was more efficient with the ball. 8 tackles was an equal team high. He will need to keep his form to hold his spot with Viney to come back.

I was surprised and disappointed with his hand pass that led to the first goal, as I thought he just hand balled loosely to space,  but on watching the replay I think it was meant for Max but was too quick for him!

He’s quickly becoming one of my favourite players - just like a previous owner of jumper no 23

POINT WELL MADE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons had a number of points to make to themselves, their opponents and the VFL football world when they traveled up to the Gold Coast to take on the Southport Sharks in the 2022 Grand Final rematch at Fankhauser Reserve.  After living off the glory of an almost perfect premiership, the Demons stumbled after winning the opening four games of the season and have struggled in their recent northern state sojourns - their only loss in 2022 came at the hands of the Lions in Brisbane a

BLUES FREE FOOTY by George on the Outer

Long time supporters would be all too familiar with the call “free kick, Hawthorn”, as umpires seemed to gift certain teams an inordinate amount of free kicks in the game. Similarly, in the Melbourne v Carlton game a 22 to 13 free kick count, was grossly out of place given the dominance of Melbourne in just about every other statistic for the game.   However, for the Blues with only 4½ wins from their 12 games, their season is rapidly heading the same way as Hawthorn, despite all the help t

    GAMEDAY: Rd 12 vs Carlton

The Blues season is on the line and their captain and coach have been in the firing line all week. If the Dees cough this one up the media's crosshairs will do a 180 and will surely be directed at the Demons who have only won 13 games from their last 25 outings. This is a must win game for the Melbourne Football Club too.

WRITING ON THE WALL by Whispering Jack

The Narrm Football Club found a second way in the space of 12 months less a day to unexpectedly lose a home game against Walyalup on Saturday afternoon. The equivalent match of last year has been described as Melbourne’s “ground zero” of 2022 where things went wrong for the club after a long run of wins that included its 57 year drought-breaking premiership triumph. Unfortunately for the Demons, the 2023 version was a case of deja vu with the Dockers overcoming a half time deficit and runn
