Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

It might take him some time to get there, but once he returns to having somewhat of a 'normal' life (coming to terms with his father's passing, cancer battle, etc.) he will dominate. Perth is where he needs to be to get the best out of himself.

When it clicks for him (and it eventually will), he'll explode.

I’m not so sure if it will ever click for him, likes partying too much.

The clock is ticking.........

He was my favourite Demon player, as evidenced by the 1313 no. in my bio, so I wish him well.

I won't try and second guess what his issues are, but once again I applaud the club on making the trading decision they did.

If you've doubted some of Goody's decisions I suggest you start having some faith.

It’s interesting to note that our forward line used to consist of Hogan, Jurrah and Clarke, who we all thought were world beaters.

Just goes to show it takes a lot more than natural talent to succeed.

All lacking “the right stuff”. Stillborn champions. Hogan has a chance to turn things around but I doubt it.

There are a couple Perth based dees fans on Twitter who have posted numerous times the murmurs around Hogans off season. All you have to do is follow his Instagram page & see most weekends he is out on the grog.

I hope he can get himself together but it seems this hasn't just happened, obvious why we let him go

So Jesse has clinical anxiety because he's moved from Melbourne FC to Fremantle FC?

yes he's gone from a club we're he is just one of the pieces in a good side, to a team we're he has to be the messiah at a crap team

Hmm you still think it was him driving the change?

maybe or maybe not but that's not the point I'm making,  he's gone from a top side to a crap side, of course he's got anxiety, he now has to be the Messiah where at Melbourne he was one of the disciples.

What concern is that to you? Hogan’s private life should be private, and not really relevant to us any more.

I couldn't careless what he does in his down time, just stating that this news hasn't come as a shock to a lot of people especially those in Perth.

Yeah nah.

I personally think it will be the worse for him. He's back with his mates who are known to be quite shady when it comes to off field activities.

Add the fact the Freo's culture is quite toxic with poor leadership around the club. He'll play some good games and dominate at times, but i doubt we'll see his full potential.

Goody won me over completely the moment he shipped Watts out. Funny enough there are still people on here who still think that was a poor decision...... crazy huh...

This is another decision Goody has a huge tick next to his name. Which in a way is a bit sad because i too was a huge fan of Hoges.

But we are far better off and i am quite excited about what May and KK will bring to this club.

It's a bit rich to say his private life should be private when he posts it on social media for all to see.

This is not necesssarily aimed at Hogan as we don't exactly what is going on with him but the sporting landscape is littered with supremely talented juniors who fail to transition to a professional sport. There is a drive that is needed to get to the top of sport. Some juniors coast along being better than their peers without putting on a huge amount of effort. Raw talent gets you there as a junior in a lot of sports but they don't have the drive or burning desire.

I would put Watts in that category, like Sylvia. Great talent but inability to transition to a professional sport to excel.

Plenty of others have less talent but a burning desire.

I'd take the second guy every time and I think the Dees are getting better at choosing which players have a better chance of making it.

If you think swapping clubs is the reason for Hogan having anxiety, then you really have no idea about mental health.

Anxiety is a horrible and debilitating thing to deal with. Anyone who has had it would know what a struggle it is. It impacts every part of your life and when you’ve gone thru as much as he has, it’s little wonder.

I wish him all the best and hope he gets himself sorted. He has so so so much talent and deserves a long and successful career.

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
