Just announced his retirement. Always loved his style. Great poise, athleticism and kept a cool head out there. Was a big part of our rebuild and played some great footy for us as recently as late last year. Thought he was stiffed not to get more of a look this year, but that’s how it goes. Thank you for your service, Mr. P.

Had more to add!

Good luck to him with his future endeavors. Was a handy player for us when called upon.

thanks for your service mate, always gave 100%

"What a whirlwind the past 6 years have been! Time is up for me at this great club but I’m very proud where the club sits moving forward. A big thank you to all the supporters and the @melbournefc and @caseydemons for all the support over the years."

Good luck Cameron.

will miss yelling PEEEEDDDDDDOOOOOOO!

put in some great efforts, especially when Gawn went down last year

there will be quite a few list changes this year!

Thanks Pedders!

Always gave his all. Not the most skilled, but worked his backside off.

Always gave his all, that is all you can ask.

Good Luck in future Cam

Thanks...

Loved watching Pedo over the last few years, had great delight in watching him take massive grabs around the ground.

Great clubman and person to boot.

#Peeeeddddooooo

Thanks for the memories.

A timely retirement.

Really good to see a player go gracefully when he knows father time is calling. Perhaps he chose retirement over being delisted, but still shows good judgement.

Liked him a lot.

Seemed to be a great club man and gave it his all.

A real goer and competitor. .

Thanks for everything Cam!

Your stint as an undersized ruckman in 2017 in the absence of Max Gawn rightfully deserves its place in Demon folklore.

He’s been a good servant of the club over the years, and developed himself in to a handy player after an ordinary start under Neeld. He’s probably the type of player that perpetually needed a fire under him to keep him performing, but that’s okay, we’re all different.

He was the ultimate spare parts player and would jokingly make reference to it whenever interviewed. His best effort was no doubt in 2017 when he single-handly had to carry us in the ruck when Max was injured through the middle of the season. This was a Herculean effort that shouldn’t be understated.

He comes across as a team man - always seemed happy to share in others achievements that didn’t involve him, like grinning from ear to ear in the rooms after a win he didn’t play in, or his embrace of Harrison Petty in the video the club put after the Petty was told of his debut. In the latter case, Petty’s selection was ahead of Pedersen himself.

Thanks for your services Cam and all the best.

Hats off. Not Demon royalty, but certainly a reliable courtier.

And we'll always have his big pack mark and his beautifully weighted pass to T-Mac in the last quarter in Perth in 2017.

Sure this isn't a #pedomyth?!!! ?

Got to hand it to him, Pedo gave his all for the team. Presented himself for selection weekly with little fuss and maximum effort. Truly an honorable servant of the club.

I wish him and his family nothing but gratitude and best wishes.

Has he retired?  PR says he won't be offered another contract.  I draw the distinction only to say that another club may pick up as a Delisted FA and if so good on him.

Whatever the future holds I wish him and his family well.  He has been a terrific, flexible and willing asset for us and a very loyal team member.  Will always be a red and blue fave!

Thanks for all the years and blood, sweat & tears, and terrific effort in 2017.

Gun in VFL, just lacking the little extra to be a permanent fixture in The Ones!

Best of luck for the future.

Loved his endeavour, loved watching him play. Most definitely got the most out of his himself. Took some massive marks and I’ll never forget that goal from the pocket.

I greatly admire Pedo for the way he combined his role as a 'fringe player' on our list, with being a 'heart and soul' clubman, whether in the seniors or at Casey, and both on and off the field.  Always gave his all, and you can't ask more than that!  If he does the same in the next phase of his life, he'll do well.

Cam never left anything behind in terms of endeavour (a good example to others) and gave us good solid service.

Thanks and good luck in the future.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
