Out of contract... I rate this fella very highly. Can play multiple positions.

I prefer to chase Sicily rather than pay overs for Lever.

2nd round Pick (26-30) & Watts for Sicily?

Or

1st round Pick (9-12) for Sicily and Howe (rate this guy too)?

I can see Howe playing his career as a big bodied mid.

Thoughts?

Hawks would want more than Watts and that pick. Why would they trade a marking forward who can play back, for a confidence player and a pick? Granted they probably want to stock up but Watts is barely a depth player, he's either top 22 or a deck chair being shuffled in and out. Hawks will be looking to add useful depth to replace injuries.

I can't believe this has even been raised.  Sicily is the number one [censored] in the game, I couldn't stomach him in a Demon guernsey!

You're right. We have all round good blokes like Bugg.

one of the hawks favourites, no way they'd let him go.

Totally agree. Being out of contract he has to be gettable though. His choice...

Not a very good player and a fake tough guy.

Seriously! He would walk into any side... I dont know who you are watching. Lol

Reminds me of his twin Clayton Oliver. Looks like him and is a competitve beast.

I believe it! He is a gun... ?

Sicily maybe more affordable than Lever.

Lever has consistent soft-tissue injuries.

Sicily has proven he can play multiple postions very well. He thrives on playing on the edge.

Seems to have more smarts in the backline, which is usually reserved for the dingbats...................................................................................................................................................................................................i don't care^_^

Not a crazy idea. Would be nice to have a marking option and he hasn't been bad out of the backline this year. The Hawkers would be pretty keen to lock him in though

Hawks will want to keep him, thus wanting a bit more than he is worth.

But surely they will be keen to get back into the early part of the draft in some way.

Problem is I don't think he is worth your 1st round pick whatever that turns out to be, but he is worth more than your 2nd round pick.

We gave 2nd round for Melksham and then Hibberd, and now we're giving it AND Watts for Sicily? Watts is not steak knives because of a few bad games and an untimely omission, a club would take him on the proviso that they could get the best out of him, and his best is elite.

Sicily is not elite, this is what we'd offer for someone who is a gamechanger and addresses a serious need. Like Isaac Smith for instance. The Hawks need defenders and would probably want Frost. Sicily for Frost, straight swap as Sicily will assumedly have nominated us. (If Lever fell through)

Watts will be selected against Brisbane and Collingwood and will get another opportunity to redeemon himself if we beat the Saints.

Genuinely shocked to hear him being rated on this site!  He is a very, very average footballer in the mold of Brad Miller.  That's no slight on Miller, he had a good career for a player of his ability - but I'd say Sicily's just about peaked; what you now see is what you get.

Average key forward, average tall defender.

(plays for free kicks way too often too)

He's a very good player. He's not that tall for an AFL player (1.89m).

2nd rd pick and Watts or a 1st rd pick.

You must be talking about a different Sicily to the one I know.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
