Last time we played them our key forwards were Watts and Weideqman with Pedo rucking , we got outmarked all day. This time it's Hogan, T. Mac and Watts forward with Max rucking, huge difference.

Tarrant will be back this week, so unfortunately Hogan won't get that third gamer.

Watts will most likely match up against a 4th gamer (Durdin or Neilsen). Surely a good chance for him to recapture some form.

Frost on BB with support from Hibberd

OMac on Waite.

Let's hope Wood is also out. He killed us last time.

Not wrong, I'm just peaking every week, think it's affecting my health, even used the C word in front of my 12yr old on Saturday, think I might need counselling.

No change.

Norf tried to beat up Essedon this week, and will no doubt try the same against us, as they did successfully the first time around this season. We need to be on our game from the first bounce, and maintain the aggression back at the ball.

Our ins were not horrible, and deserve another go.

With a swag of teams within 1 game of us, finals are still not guaranteed yet. Simply cannot drop this game.

Give Wattsy a run at Casey?? ^_^

Norf will try to hit us physically, as they did last time.

We need every player to show some heart.

We have the lowest percentage in the 8 and are only in there by 1 game and peple are thinking of resting players?

Jones kind of hinted that Bernie might not be able to walk straight back into the team on the footy show. Nor should he.

Would Jones be in a position to know? I would expect most players wouldn't but as an injured co-Captain I could see that he might given that he may have been observing the coaching and team selection aspects as part of his education while he recovers. Or, it could just be the usual cliched comment.

On reflection I would say JKH comes out if Jones comes in.

I really like Vince, but if Trengove can build on his game against Port then I don't see Vince walking straight back into the team.

I agree. The way Vince had been used as a half back and when needed run with player. His skills have been fading and Trengove probably didn't pull the trigger on many kicks.. was efficient.

I agree. Our grand final. Is making the finals. We have to throw everything at getting there!

I have nightmares about Brown every time we play them. Just always seems to get hold of us. Maybe T Mac goes back? With Watts and Hogan in he's not as critical up forward, and was quiet there on Saturday.

I do not think TMac's game on Saturday was "Quiet". He was one of our better 3or 4 players.

We struggle with the tall forwards like Brown, Daniher (when he kicks straight) and Petrie.

In :- Jones       Out :- Trenners.

JKH has more pace than Trenners. No romantic thoughts about Trenners please!

Just listen to Goodwin he gives the same consistent message, he wants to keep the guys together who are playing the style they want.

I think we are just about at our best 22 add in....... Vince,    Jones,   Brayshaw of the available fit players left.

I'd like to see Brayshaw get a run over the last 3 games against the Aints,, Lions and Pies

You prefer JKH to Trengove Barney?

That must mean you have very low opinion of Trengove.

No changes this week unless Jones is fit and ready.

Surely we finally beat the Kangas. The losing streak to them is an embarrassing joke! We need to beat them to keep on track for finals, and we also need to build our percentage as it's currently the worst of all the teams in the 8.

I like the composure of Trengove .

They won't rush Brayshaw back imho .

Not sold on JKH but I think we May need to use 25-29 players on the road to victory.

The 30 best are all still in the mix given Sh!t happens re injuries/ suspensions, funerals,Bah Mitzvahs , meteor strikes , alien abductions and the like.

Without injuries, if Jones plays, would imagine JKH is the one to go out. Not sure who else could be a candidate ... Harmes?

My gut would be JKH - Harmes's physicality and gut running is superior - and strong hands. I'm actually missing Bugg though. I rate him.

faulty - we went toe-to-toe with North last time, instigated most of it ourselves, and absolutely smashed them when it was 'on'. They certainly didn't successfully beat up on us. I would argue it was the exact opposite, we successfully beat up on them and lost the match when we backed off from the fight.

Someone actually watched the Footy Show?

lol. I recorded the start to see what Jones had to say. Big mistake, as I'm now eternally embarrassed on here.

Heard tonight that Max had scans on his ankle this morning. He might not be right for Saturday.

Damn, just as he was finding touch. Still, we need to play smart with him.

Pedders did a solid job in his absence, much as I want Gawn out there is there's doubt let's play Pedders again.

Goodwin mentioned that he played in a bit of pain after half time and that they would be sending him off for scans so I have not given up.

Of course he may have received a magical jab at half time that masked something a little worse.

Not sure I could take another injury to a key player. This season has been a nightmare on that front.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
