lol - is 'suspicious looking characters' code for demonlanders?

maybe vp looked like one of those 'suspicious looking characters'?

Also curious about this. Being an open park I assume that if the club is using the space it has the right to turn people away from watching unless at a distance...but that would be silly. We do have to be the only club though that doesn't have an obvious way to have a "closed" session.

We were asked to leave today (which I did).  First time that has happened.  Nothing out of the ordinary happened whilst I was there, usual drills - agility, ball handling and movement inside 50.

So what happened after you left VP?

Hawthorn, Collingwood,  Richmond,  Norths have training bases where you can watch a closed session, so no we are not the 'only'

I have also attended quite a few closed sessions, assume VP was filming the drills, that is a big no no as I said before

I think you can add Western Bulldogs to this list, too.

True although fairly certain Collingwood's pitch is gated.

There was a guy with a dog who kicked a 'power' lead out and stopped the stats and media guys recording the session for a while

Did he have a frisby too? I'm onto that bloke.

Its suddenly not looking that bad injury wise all of a sudden! Its been feeling like the roof was about to collapse lately.....

Though not helped by Vince and Garlett missing (the latter through no fault of his own). Swings and roundabouts ... if we ever get the full list on the park, look out!

There was reportedly one odd bloke there with a beard who seemed somewhat suspicious following Neville around on his scooter.

What was Nev doing riding a scooter?

Thank you football Gods:D

Remember though that players returning from injury can take time to find form and match fitness, as we have seen often and recently with some of our best players.

Totally get what you're saying but the 4 ins (hopefully) have only missed between 2 and 4 games. Hopefully that's not too much to prevent the players from hitting the ground running on Saturday. Time will tell though.

That is true, I was just tempering the euphoria of getting some of our best players back, that some think means that they automatically play at their best.

On the other hand it is imperative if we are to play finals that we get our best team on the park and playing their best football.

We can't expect an immediate impact from all of them if indeed they all return, but at least it will free up the likes of Trac, Hannan, Harmes and co.

It gives us some kind of structure back.

Collectively, the clubs have an informal policy  that is something like:

a) official closed sessions are respected, except for undercover spies sometimes;

b) Spies who are identified and asked to leave either open or closed sessions respect that direction.

We've got 2 hours to guess the outs.

I'm going out on a limb and suggesting Vince and Kent are definite outs

The other two. Smith and Pedo?

Might be a load of rubbish but another poster said the coaching staff were furious with Wagner's defensive game last week. He might be a smokey to miss.

I reckon Smith stays in and they play him against one of the talls like Westhoff, Garlett out due to personal reasons.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
